I haven't laid eyes on this 3rd member but thinking about picking it up in case my Dana idea fails and I can just toss it on the shelf. Am I looking at an aftermarket E-locker 3rd? Googlefu is not kicking back anything that looks close?

The carrier is certainly an aftermarket Elocker. The housing however, doesn't look right to me. There is usually a bolt in the top middle of the cap. Some better pics would help a lot.

Just did some looking and the closest I find is a Harrop,it has the split carrier (where ring gear bolts to) but the holes in the case are different. Not a Eaton 4 pinion cause they have a solid case there. Maybe the old style? But those are questionable. Appears to have a plug in it to that looks like something toyota would use. Not up to date on third gen taco stuff maybe it's for that?

I don’t have a link and it’s on an auction without any description. I’ve asked the auctioneer for part numbers if available

I just took a pic of diff on my 2010 taco. The cast in nipple appears to be in the same spot. I also just looked in my pile of diffs and the older v-6 / 4cyl don't have any or not in that spot. So this could be a third gen taco that was 8.75 or what ever the he'll they were ,they lost the girdle on the bearing caps. When I get back home I will look under a 4th gen runner to see if the nipple is there. Be nice if you could get him to spin the gear to get a # on the carrier and gear.

I reckon you win the guessing game. I think those axles went away from the shift fork style and went to something similar to the eaton.

I found this one on the bay of e . has some good pics. Worst case throw a low bid on it and resell it for some profit I doubt the average person won't even know what it is .https://www.ebay.com/itm/155110800176?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1E3WwIMb9SLSYIA279bOAiw31&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=155110800176&targetid=1644837436043&device=m&mktype=&googleloc=9058775&poi=&campaignid=16743749222&mkgroupid=138744546207&rlsatarget=pla-1644837436043&abcId=9300842&merchantid=108061917&gclid=Cj0KCQjw3eeXBhD7ARIsAHjssr_Q5kN46MJqt_AuFuSoEkfPVake8iXQ2mnncJmtibKU-VH_uWMZ3swaAhlPEALw_wcB

Looks like a newer gen elocker. Good find! Hopefully you can nab it cheap.

Looks like the 8.75 to me. Wonder if it's worth it to build up one of those axles, Eaton makes an elocker for them for the non locking diffs and they have 32 spline shafts. Did you end up getting it?

No I lost the auction. It went way too high for guessing what it was. Auctioneer wasn’t helpful with part numbers
