Howdy guys, looking for some advice on good places to car camp and shit to see out in W Wyoming

Backstory: I got t-boned in my 4Runner last week and its totaled. Ins is gunna cut me a decent check for it and I found a kickass 3rd gen out in Thayne, WY I’m planning on picking up later this week, most likely Thursday.

I’m planning on making a long weekend out of it since who knows when I’ll be able to get out there again. Most likely meeting in Jackson since I can drop off the rental car there. Don’t think I’m gunna do Yellowstone, I’ll save that for a time when I have my kids with me, but the Tetons are right there.

Trying to do this as cheap as possible since I’m a broke ass :flipoff2: so any recommendations on places for dope hikes, swimming, light wheeling and free camping are much appreciated!

Wheelin66bronco I see you’re out in that area, whats good out there??

Thanks in advance Yall

I'm just outside of Thayne. If you need me to guard you from Muslims at 11:30pm, just hit me up:flipoff2: I'll bring you a 4" knife to borrow. :lmao:

Seriously, if you need anything pm me, I'll give you my #.
For a quiet secluded car camping spot, I'd suggest Strawberry creek reservoir, Swift Creek, or Cottonwood lake (has actual camp spots).
Not much offloading here besides sxs/dirtbike, but tons of National Forest to camp.

It cost $30 to get into Grand Teton National Park. Everything in Jackson is $$$$. Just spent a week there, and while we had a blast, it was almost ridiculous the prices they charge. Hoback Campground is nice and on the river. There is the Astoria and granite hot springs which is relaxing. You can hike Jackson Hole Ski area for free. Takes 3-4 hours to get to the top.

If your looking for cheep dive western stuff... Kaycee has my vote. Cheep ass dive bar with greasy good food a short crawl away for a cheap motel. Really nice hard working friendly people. :smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin:

Maybe hit up the Killpecker Sand Dunes? It's been years since I've been there, but you can drive out there in a regular truck.
Opposite direction but thanks, didn’t say in the OP but coming from Boise

If you're really broke ass avoid Jackson
Haha just meeting there cause its closer for him than Idaho Falls and there is an Enterprise there. But aside from that I grew up learning to be poor in rich areas, hence why I’m not asking for hotels and restaurants :flipoff2:

:lmao: I didn’t offer 3k over asking and it doesn’t have a bad HG so I should be good! :lmao: That and the .45 in the glove box

But seriously, thanks Man!

And those spots look awesome :smokin:

I would probably facilitate a ride from Jackson to Thayne if needed also.
Dude said He works in Jackson and could throw it on the trailer and bring it up.

He actually offered to bring it all the way to Boise if needed but I really want to check out yalls way 🤙

Lol I may wear a flat bill hat too, but it’s amazing what a guy can avoid when not dealing with shady people :flipoff2:

Didn't Chris Ledoux sing about Kaycee?

Thanks for the call fucker, I live 2mi from there. :flipoff2:
My bad! You said to pm if I needed anything, not if I wanted anything :flipoff2: I actually was gunna hit you up but couldn’t get irate4x4 to load lol, I had jack shit for reception “roaming lte” which was pretty much just occasional texts might send.

Funny thing was it was a spur of the moment decision to head down there from Granite Falls, on the map it looked much closer to a populated area than where I was at. I sliced a toe pretty good out at the falls and thought “I should probably go somewhere with better cell service” but jokes on me since I didn’t have reception there either :flipoff2:

What a freakin beautiful place to live man! How about those storms? Lol, one of them rolled in like a hurricane for 5 min and then was gone. Fun stuff…Stellar stargazing out there as well 🤙🏻

And just so ADD isn’t the only one posting feet pics…

All good man. Ya, I shoulda told you there's no service up there. Verizon isn't great, and roams on a local LTE network (company I work for actually) but the agreement is for emergency voice basically, so Data and texting sucks. Verizon doesn't like to pay for roaming.
As you were driving into Strawberry canyon, I'm a mile due south at the next canyon (dry canyon). Yes, pretty good storms and rain this week. We are very lucky to live here, we love it.
I'm in Boise all the time for work. Hit me up if you ever wanna grab a drink or bite to eat.

That makes sense haha, cheap ass verizon…

Right on, You weren’t kidding thats like RIGHT there! Well shoot Man, sucks you gotta come all the way out here for work all the time, but that sounds good to me 🤘🏼

Maybe I’ll still make youtube snuff star yet :flipoff2:
