Maybe just not whatever type of nerd knows WTF you're jabbering about.

Thanks for explaining - this thread is more meaningful now :flipoff2:

I will add all you nerds later.
need more people to play with me.

If you thought about my dick because of that double entendre you're gay.

Is it actually any good? Not really played COD online on years.

Warzone is ok if you're into Battle Royale stuff.

The multiplayer is hot fucking garbage due to the skill based matchmaking. Tl;dr version is it analyzes everything from how often you run, how fast/often you ADS, how accurate you are, ect and it's supposed to match you with other players of similar skill level based on those stats every game. What it actually does is adjusts your performance by putting you on a delay, lowering your accuracy, ect so that your games and stats always more or less even out. Great if you suck, but it incredibly annoying if you're a good player.

Why then am I almost always top 3 in score of every match I play in multiplayer?

That said, I prefer the good ol' days of FPS where you picked your server and game mode and maps and such...so you could actually get some consistent play with the same people. This matchmaking stuff is okay for a quick shoot it up round, but that's it.

My handle is "SomeGuy" something or other numbers.

Probably due to current stats or overall time played. It's less noticeable if you're a casual player, play solo, ect.

That said, I play with one of the oldest CoD clans and used to play professionally years ago. This is the first CoD in years where I haven't had a 2+ overall KDR.

I'll try to find the post on it. Another developer went through the patents for the game and broke down how the matchmaking works and how it targets and handicaps better players. Activision has even advertised that the matchmaking is designed to help casual and bad players.

And yeah, I definitely wish they'd get rid of matchmaking and bring back dedicated servers for PC, but that's been dead in CoD since MW2 and is dead pretty much across the board for AAA titles at this point. It's much easier and more profitable for these companies to just do shitty ports to PC after designing for consoles. Especially now that China is such a huge market in gaming.

I don't play the regular multiplayer unless I need to unlock shit on weapons for warzone.

warzone is great fun with 3-4 people on a team. it sucks solo.

and I used to be globally top 100 in unreal tournament, fucking n00bs!
but now I'm just a filthy casual console player

I pretty much just play solo...my W/L is 1.31 but my K/D is 0.94 and only 3 and a half days play time. Although sometimes I don't play too serious and screw around intentionally. I'd imagine my "trying" K/D would be 1.2-1.4 roughly based on what those games usually end up in.

I haven't played multiplayer online since soldier of fortune (the old 1.06/1.07 versions), I was damn good back then but that's also probably 15-20 years ago.

Tree_nj on every night between 9 & midnight EST. Run with the same couple of guys but could always add a couple more for consistency.

Playing Plunder solo in Warzone can be fun. I've been running around doing bounty contracts and finding the campers. Makes it pretty entertaining when you don't even worry about how much cash you have, just in it to fuck with others.

as a casual I'm usually only on a few nights a week for a few hours at most.

so if I don't have friends playing I'm not really interested in the game.

I think I hate it. This is the only online COD game play where I'm not better than the next guy. I've been great at the rest of the games but this one... not so much.

That's why, you're right in the sweet spot to get consistent games.

They more or less want people to end up around 1:1 on KDR and WLR and won't allow it to go much higher than that. I'm fine with the premise of matching on skill, I'm just not fine with being hampered because I'm good. The other issue with it is if you're a high skilled player you're constantly getting paired with cheaters because your matchmaking pool is so small.

Cheaters being the PC gamers?
