H&K VP9. Non tacticool. TLR-7 on it, nothing special. What are the popular and best upgrades.

FN 509 tactical compact on doo doo brown. Already has a Leupold optic and TLR-7A mounted. Looking for more popular and necessary upgrades.

Hit me!

I’m not very exciting.

I‘ve been collecting Smith & Wesson products recently.

One of the voices in my head keeps telling me I need a Shield in 40, probably because I don’t have anything in 40 :homer:

Scorpion EVO 3 is on my short list.

Hear the 509 need a trigger upgrade. I've been eye balling a 509C versions and that is what I found. Trigger is meh.

Don't

Get something delayed action. Direct blowback sucks, the scorp trigger sucks, the ergos suck.

The scorpion would be a good gun for $600. It's massively overpriced, just save up more and get a MP5 or CMMG radial or anything else

I held one for about an hour and it felt great to me. The range was being used already, and wasn't able to get in there. At the time it was $800something. Now I see them for $1200. Not sure what happened there.

They had n MP5 clone there for something like $2200.

And you're flat out wrong, the CZ scorpion is a fine weapon. There isn't enough difference is a delayed blowback vs direct blowback in a 9mm. Even H&K went away from delayed blowback.
They have the most aftermarket support of any of the current pcc offerings. Unless you want to go an ar pattern pcc, but there is no standardization at all for them.

As to the OPs question, I don't change much on my pistols, usually just sights and sometimes grips if they are changeable.
On glocks or other pistols that don't have what I consider a good enough trigger I will change out springs and other parts to achieve a better trigger.
The Truglow TFX sights are my current favorites.

No direct experience with either of the pistols you listed. I do know that doing trigger work on the 509 looked like a total PITA in what I researched on it. Kinda soured me on the 509. I don't like glocks that much, but they are really easy to work on and modify.

If you’re wanting to improve the on the 509, this looks like the way to go:
They seem to break strikers. From reading about the Apex triggers, I don’t think I’d go down that road.
Beyond that I think the upgrade is trade the 509 for a FNX.
