Guess while I wasn't paying any attention and Stan's headers retired. Been saving up for a set of his 244Y-L headers for my 76 F250. Im bummed.

So am I now looking to get the FPA ones that Stan made for FPA supposedly? After a couple years of looking Stan's were the ones I wanted.

Read on binderplanet that somebody else bought the plans/patterns/patents.

Anyone have any info on Stan's or experience with FPA headers? Thanks

No experience with either of them but I bought headers from Sanderson that I'll be running on my 78 F250 with a 460.

I called them up and talked over my setup with Carlos there and he actually sold me a mismatched set because it fit my rig better.

They aren't installed yet but I'll update when I put them on.

I work next door to where Stan's was. All of the old stock, jigs machines etc... were auctioned off in lots a couple months ago. I have not heard anything about where any of it went but many tons of metal, likely jigs and dead stock, went to scrap. They were filling multiple semi-truck roll offs a day with scrap over there, everything people didn't pick up from the auction. There were a few shelves of headers that I got outbid on and I haven't seen them pop up anywhere for sale.

I've never heard anything bad about FPA, they make some odd-ball stuff that nobody else really does, kinda looks like they're the only ones making an FE header for 67-76 4x4s now.

This is a 76 so it is a little different. Its a FE engine and its a 'highboy' so it has the crossmember to contend with. Wouldn't be the same setup but thanks. Post the results anyway.

I did a lot of research trying to decide what set of headers I was going to use. Stan's were unbelievable quality with a ceramic coating option, thick flanges and ball style.

Word on the street when you compare the FPA version to Stan's they were exactly the same. And there was a lot of people saying Stan actually made the FE headers for FPA. To make matters worse a guy named Stan works(ed) at FPA and was who you would talk to to order them. It had people thinking it was the same Stan.

I'll end up getting the FPA ones. But I was really looking forward to the experience of driving up to a local shop, having them install the headers and talking to the guy who made/ designed them. It was well documented that Stan was thoroughly knowledgeable in the application.

I read somebody bought the patent/ patterns called Drake, out of Texas.

Im S.O.L. it looks like with FPA too.

Back to the drawing board. Fawk

Similar boat here with my '76 F100 4x4. Looks like I'll be staying with the stock manifolds. Oh well...

If you find something else works out let me know. I'll do the same. Right now I'm looking into Doug's

They have all sorts of headers, not just what I ordered up.

Give them a call and see what they can do for you.

Thanks. I just went and looked and I may be looking at a ff427, or the ff427cs. I sent an email and I will post the info I receive.
