in 2016, he started running for office.. he said he'd either start a non profit or run for office... and he built up he war chest and figured out what he could run for while he built up residency... He is 40.. so, if we count from 16 to now... that is 8 of 40 years... the first 25 years he spent in school... so of 15 'working years' 8 have been used in political pursuits... so, I vote 'kinda'

The question structure has softballed Walz and tried to gotcha Vance. And the response time patterns have favored Walz. Apart from the China misstatement that they skewered Walz on. It has been reasonable debate arrangement. Better than CNN and I thought that one was uncharacteristic of CNN.
The comment earlier that these two should be the prez candidates is spot on.
