Instagram shut down my pups account for violating community standards...

I haven't posted in 2 months.

Only thing that has ever been posted is pictures of a dog and of a couple of vehicles.

They make it really f'n hard to question their action... Verify your email... veryify your phone number... ooh... we can't send you a code to that phone number... you have another month to appeal... ok, we'll send a code to your wife's phone number... but not yours... You must post a selfie to verify it's you... now we'll review and let you know if you're permanently joining the band.

holy hell. There's probably < 10 pics on that account. What standards were violated?

Yeah/yeah/yeah... I get it... f' the socials.
 
Instagram being owned by Facebook, I'm not the least bit surprised. I have a couple friends on FB that have been locked for 30 days for puppy pictures. One was even for a fundraiser.

Something stupid with the algorithm. I got a bunch of strikes of FB, I appealed and won every single one of them. Then one day I got a message that their AI determined my account violated community standards and was just banned, not even the 30 day sentence, just gone, no appeal. It didn't even tell me what post violated but I had just dropped a bunch of Hunter Biden memes so....Fuq Zuq.

The new fake account doesn't do anything but shit on libs, but the name sounds like a Nigerian prince, no strikes yet. We'll see if it makes it through the election though.

I got banned for a bit for listing some Leathermans for sale. They claimed they were assault weapons.

I mean... a person could assault another with nearly anything. Should they ban books too? A 400 page dictionary across the head wouldn't feel good.

Oh well, ended up giving them to my brother's kids. Didn't take 10 mins before one came running in bleeding all over with a cut hand :homer:

In boot camp my senior drill instructor said he could kill a person with a ball point pen. Better ban those too.:homer:

Lots of scammers post fake puppy for sale adoption ads and also do the "missing" ads where they'll post about a missing dog or kid or grandma and get a bunch of likes and shares and then change the image and text to something completely different and scammy. Probably posted something that looked enough like one of those to get auto flagged.


I got instapermabanned from marketplace for listing some compound bows. No warning or appeal. Just band. And I can still regularly go on and search for bows and see people selling the exact same thing. :shaking:

They did the same thing to mine, a year or so ago. I never really posted anything at all, so maybe that was the violation?

I never really used it, so the only time I miss having it is when someone tries to share some video with me, that I can't easily watch.
