Verizon outage - timing

AT&T just sold off Direct TV. That makes me happy, it should positively affect the stock price.
They sold off 33% of Direct shares not the whole bundle from what I read...and to add fuel DirectTV is buying Dish from Echo in 2025.

As to Verizon...cant say as how I've had any hassles with them in MT. My son in BFE CO is another matter, got so bad that the town (Teller county) he lives in was losing 911 calls. Verizon had to put up temp towers to keep from being lambasted by various 3 letter Fed agencies along with major litigations due to the problem. He makes threats to leave to T mobile but service contracts and purchased phones he and his family bought under verizon have him by the short n' curlies...yes he's looked into the service contract purchase thing T mobile was pushing, it's not as good as its touted.

Very hard communication with my boss and personal south of St. Louis today on their end. I have Verizon also but on my way to Dallas tx and never knew there was an issue. Thought it was the towers service in ok homie. Not good

I am convinced Verizon has slowly been making their service shittier and shittier to force everyone to rely on WIFI calling and reduce the load on their towers. :tinfoilhat:

Mine has been out since around 8am, but service just got restored. Had to use my desk phone in the office, first time making an out going call from it in 2.5 years.

This sounds exactly like what happened to ATT a few months ago. SOS only, some worked some didn't. My work phone was fine but my personal wasn't. Both on ATT, both running the same IOS version. Made no sense why one would work, and one wouldn't.

From Forbes;
AT&T says it will sell remaining stake in DirecTV
10:08:00 AM ET, 09/30/2024 - United Press International
AT&T announced on Monday it will sell its remaining 70% stake in DirecTV to the California private equity firm TPG totaling billions.
While the deal still has to clear customary closing hurdles, AT&T said it is expected to be completed by the second half of 2025. AT&T said the cost of the initial transaction with TPG was $19 billion and expected "an additional $7.6 billion of cash payment" following the agreement to sell its remaining stake.
"Over the past three years, the company achieved financial outcomes consistent with its expectations that underpinned its decision to retain a 70% financial interest in DirecTV," AT&T said in a statement.
"This sale allows AT&T to continue to focus on being the leading wireless 5G and fiber connectivity company in America."
AT&T merged with DirecTV in 2015, with AT&T saying at the time that the marriage would increase customer entertainment options and access their favorite content on mobile devices and video streaming.
DirecTV was the subject of a public spat with Disney earlier this month over a carriage agreement that left more than 11 million DirectTV subscribers without ESPN and other popular channels. Some customers loss ESPN on DirecTV in the middle of the U.S. Open, leaving DirecTV with complaints from views around the country.

Have not noticed any issues with my Verizon phone, then again I was in NE/IA today.

My 2nd phone is ATT, have not had any issues streaming podcasts/music.

Both phones are unlocked Motorola Power 5G.

I agree 💯 :usa: no tin foil hat.. I'm convinced.
If not attached to wifi... I will go into roam... but when attached at home.. I'll have 2-sometimes 3 bars... shut off wifi... and phone goes straight to roam or one bar bouncing eoam..

West Coast problems, lol. My three Verizon phones and everyone I talked to today w/ Verizon (FL & SC) haven't had any issues.
