I'm sure he is, but I think he's basically gave the local mob boss' nephew a job at his restaurant when he was 14, and now the kid is running a crew out of his storeroom. Sure, he can fire him, but at what cost?

He has the power of the microphone, which is a LOT of power. He comes out and states on the record that "we are getting pressure from the Biden Harriss administration and the FBI to censor the news we can bring you" ... You don't think that would be in his wheelhouse?

Would this be the same FBI and administration that more than likely just tried to assassinate their opposition on TV? Sure, let's see how that plays out for him.

That happened because of HIM, and people like him allowing false narratives to be pushed on the people. His actions in situations like this are what is responsible for that assasination attempt, likely MORE than the FBI.

You have a non partisan, and honest press, you alleviate or debunk the rhetoric and the power that comes with it.

If anyone had a crystal ball it’s him. This is one of the dudes with the biggest data collection network behind him. Maybe a massive Trump landslide is coming. Perhaps he’s like a rat jumping from a sinking ship onto the only available raft.

Also wonder if Musk sucking up to Trump is for true morality “save the republic reasons” or a power move or what mixture of both. I can see Twitter seeing a surge of business as well as his other govt contracted companies with a Trump friendship. Maybe Zuck is trying playing the same game as Elon.

I'm not so sure. I'd think once you go flying past fuck you amounts of money and the cash cow is on auto pilot, it's probably a easy step to let ideology take over.

Plus, what he did/let happen, sure seems like his ideology had a say. He didn't say no. Zuck bucks was him openly trying to assist the cheat.

If nothing else I'm sure self interest is a huge part of it. I'm no fan of him, but he does tend to be treated as the face for social media, especially when it comes to government looking to pin everything on. In reality, he's not doing anything all social media isn't doing aside from Twitter. Can't entirely blame them either, you're risking a lot standing up to the Feds when they come knocking and they certainly have plenty to lose by not playing ball. But, Musk has also shown them it can be done.

he's trying to placate both sides. he has no worries from a Trump presidency. teh deep state will protect him. any "confessions" are just a way to get this out into the open so it can be ignored well before the election.

True but the whole with great power comes with great responsibility thing. Musk risked 44B, lost half of it and had to rebuild. Zuck took a different easier route. We will never be in either guys shoes so who knows what each of us would do. I do like the way Musk trolls though

You are linking lack of ideology and lack of compassion with capitalism. History has shown that this is just not the case. The more government gets involved with the economy, the less free they become, the closer you get to a state planned economy (a la fascism and communism) the more corrupt they become. You are talking out of your ass, as usual.
