Borrowed my dads 4.5x9 utility trailer
Its over 25 years old, needs a bit of love cosmetically, a new ground (grounding through the hitch at the moment) and TIRES
This trailer has never had a spare. I think a spare would be a great idea…
Currently mounted are 195/75r14 wheels
I suspect the hub is 5x4.5 but it uses bolts and not studs… literally bolts not German/Italian wheel bolts
So this seems like a standard old school car tire size. Trailer has car tires on it and always has… since I’m sinking some coin into it as the tires are dry rotted; do I stick with passenger tires or jump into trailer tires?
How hard will it be to find a spare wheel that has the correct shoulder for bolts that isn’t tapered?
If I can’t find a match… is this the point where I jump up a wheel size or two?
