Who’s going?
I’ll be there for 8 days with JohnnyJ and a couple others as volunteer guides on The Fallen. We have a couple down days with no plans other than enjoying the event.

He’s the only one who hasn’t had an issue. LJ front driveshaft. Johnny had torque converter bolts loosen up. I broke an axle shaft.
Oh and Dale’s dually developed a clatter and it’s in a local shop. Not sure how we are getting everyone home.

Definitely been hot this year. In 8 years, I have never “needed” an ac in the hauler here, but have been running the gen most of the day just to keep the garage under 100 this year.
The Trail Breaker was tougher than it looked. The first competitor finished all 3 courses pretty quick, so was thinking it was easier than previous years. But then only 2 of the 10 completed it. Only had 4 recoveries, which is a lot less than last year. But 2 of them were previous winners.

We were standing by the Course 2 exit and enjoyed watching. Couldn’t see much of Course 1 and also Course 3 Gate 2, but we had a great view of Melchner’s roll.

I am so glad that car stripped where it did. I watched it rolling towards the edge. It would have been an ugly landing. He handled it very well, but did comment that he felt better after we got a line on him. His dad was watching from the bottom of the cliff.

Came up from left in pic. Had to shoot the wall. I think only 3 made the wall to even get to that point.

Yeah, back flipped off the notch and rolled towards the edge. I have yet to see video.

Unless my memory is wrong, 2 completed, Lil Charlie was third to attempt gate 3, and 4 failed to complete Course 3 Gate 2.
