I have a 2615 mahindra tractor that keeps overheating when I run a light duty 48” bush hog or my tiller. The tiller is a pretty heavy load for it but I have run the bush hog for several years before it started overheating. Thermostat is good, radiator is clean inside and out, belt is tight, water pump appears to be good. Fins could be bad I suppose.
You can pull a disc or run the front end loader all day and it runs good. Use the bush hog for 30-45 minutes on a hot day and it will get hot and push water into the overflow a little at a time.
What should I be looking at?

got any properly sized turbochargers laying around? More air will make it run cooler.
Viscous fan clutch getting weak?

Live or independent pto?
if independent, could be extra drag on PTO causing it to work harder.
plenty of water flow in radiator? can you look into the rad neck?

Most likely something on the radiator side is the problem.

Good timing, My tractor did the same thing last week with the brush hog on it and had never done it before. Driving around and using the loader it doesn't. I can't claim my radiator is clean though, haven’t checked and I'll probably check it out here shortly.

Im guessing its independent according to the online specs. The hydraulic is live.
What do you mean by extra drag?
Not sure how much water flow it should have. Water moves but not like I thought it would. Thinking that could be a problem. You can see a little space in the top of the engine. Really wondering if the blades on water pump could be bad.

shroud in good shape?
tstat not opening all the way?
Shroud is good and checked the tstat on the stove. Overheats only when running the pto on the bush hog or tiller.

pump is checked that it is in fact pumping?

how many feet of bailing twine do you have wrapped up in your PTO bits?

Just running straight water right now. Radiator is full
Why? Did you just do a coolant flush or something? Or from pulling the t-stat and checking it? No scale buildup in the radiator that you can see from the cap? Make damn sure you got that radiator cleaned out real well with air and pressure wash it. Hold a light up behind it at dark and make sure you can see through every single hole on the thing. I've dealt with a lot of clogged radiators in my time.

Only bad water pumps I have seen leaked or wobbled really bad. Not sure what the fins on the water pump are made of. They could be bad and not moving enough water through it to cool under heavy load. Water pumps is about 60 bucks so its worth a shot.

No build up from what I can see. I flushed water through the entire system. Let it run with the drain plug out while keeping the radiator topped off. Towards the end of season ill put antifreeze back in it for winter. Fins are clean at least now that the birds nest is out of the shroud. I have had to do that a few times in the spring.

Fixin to do a head gasket.
It got pretty bad hot saturday cleaning up brush at some family property. Something hung the radiator drain valve and broke it off. Ran all the water out of it. Temp gauge never moved off normal. It doesnt register if there isnt any water moving across it.
Started loosing power and valves were chattering. I shut it down and found the broke line. Let it cool down and plugged the drain valve. Fired it up and filled with a gallon of water. Drove it about a half mile back to the truck. Ran fine all the way. Just got it home this morning, I have not checked to see if the oil has any water mixed in with it yet.
