Looking at getting my 1st sxs. I'm prettysettled in an x3 of some variant. Most likely a rr xrc. My main question is track width. I'll be east coast riding. Places like Hatfield and mcoy, and other parks. Should I go with the 72"? While I don't mind rubbing a tree here amd there i don't want to rub all the trees

Honestly unless you're really concerned about the little extra travel and stability, I'd lean towards 64". Seem to be slightly easier on parts and quite a bit more maneuverable, especially if you're doing many tight trails. Only other concern is if you plan on upgrading tire size as the trailing arms on the 64" are snug with the stock offset wheels going up much in size. The XRC is a pretty well set up rig from the factory, solid choice. Also fast as ****, honestly needs nothing.

I dont think you need a 72" machine for stability at all especially with how low X3s sit from the factory. if you ever felt like you needed to be wider you could always change wheels to adjust offset easily.

I said that to say this, its easier to widen a machine than it is to narrow one up.

Personally I havent been compelled to wish my machine was wider any time ive been on HMT especially on the 180 switchbacks that require multiple point turns.

my two pennies.
