Looks like both batteries in my '16 F350 are on their way out. Truck doesn't get used much currently... so they're not being cycled much.

Keeping this truck for a long time (unless I win the lottery), so looking for recommendations. Optima is off the table - nothing but bad luck with them in the past 10 years. AGM preferred, but I'm also trying to be friendly to the wallet.

Tuesday lol

I remember the old Optima thread on the old site and I did my share of Optima bashing.... But since then, I've had a real good run of good luck with Optimas. I live offgrid and ended up with one array having 6 blue tops that feeds part of my log cabin. all of my trucks have yellow tops in them.

You mentioned that the truck does get used much? maybe throw a 50w or 100w cheap solar panel on it to keep the batteries topped off? I'm doing that with three trucks in my shop. None of them get used much and my shop needs power, so I wired up a couple of 100w panels on the shop and run it off those 4 batteries (installed in the trucks). It's win win for me: the truck batteries are always full and when I need power in the shop I have it.

I've got autozone brand agm batteries in my 6.0l f550. I drive it once or twice a week, sometimes less. Two and a half years later, no issues, so they seem to be good for the money.

well crap... that didn't pop up on page 1 of my search.

I have the Odyssey Extreme AGM in my 2016 6.7l. No issues cranking the truck over quickly even when it was down to zero deg F last winter.

at $300/ea they aren't cheap but I am happy with them so far.

Odyssey is $419 at my local Batteries Plus... $299 on Amazon... X2 is $299 at Batteries Plus.

Damn, maybe they were on sale when I got them but they were definitely less than $400 ea from 4WP a year ago

bargain bin group 31s
dunno what kinda shit you gotta do to get them to fit, but 6 years on and they'll still crank my IDI until the starter is smoking something fierce
Probably go with just one if you live anywhere that isn't MN or ND

I've gone back to Motorcraft batteries in my Ford's, decent price and by far the best warranty. Keep a trickle charger on them.

I'm running Autozone AGMs in everything. Left the bluetooth on in the crawler for 6 months. Battery was at .5v, and I was able to save it after a week of charging.

Bosch AGMs in my 06 Ram 5.9. Replaced the OEM's after 11 years and these have been in there for 3. No issues yet.

They had a mail in rebate, and I bought them through a well used commercial account so the net cost was sub $200 for the pair.

X2's installed. 10% off for ordering online, $20 mail in rebate (each?), 5-year warranty.

In my diesels and any other important vehicles, I use interstate batteries.

I did buy a Walmart special for a "move around" battery. It goes between the forklift, the welder, and any other random vehicle that doesn't have its own battery. I am very happy with the performance so far.

I consider the quality first, then warranty. Price isn't a big factor.

With interstate, you can warranty them anywhere that sells them. No receipt required.

Same with the Walmart battery

It is supposed to be that way with all of them, but good luck.

Cosco has interstate batteries, not the premium ones, but they have lasted for me well, cheap and have a great warranty, which is extended if you buy them with their credit card.

I misspoke on my bargain bin group 31s, turns out they've got stickers from '11 on them
still doing great, probably fail a load test based on the 950 cca figure on the sticker, but if you tested them based on the normal 650 you get outta a 27 I'm sure they'd still be exceptional

I believe the Wal-Mart agm batteries are the same top shelf batteries sold everywhere else with a different sticker, I'll be looking them over real well when my tow rig needs new batteries

I bought Cummins group 31 I think (semi truck) batteries at the locla truck shop for what, 75 bucks each? Good batts. Or duraalst gold from craigslist/offerup

Due to your(or whoever posted it) research about the Walmart batteries, I bought the cheap $55 lead acid and it spun the v10 over just as quick as my AGM. Both Walmart 65s.

theres only a couple folks who make the god damn things, buy the cheapest

Put two of the Walmart Everstarts in my Dodge after 4 years, they don't like deep discharging. Kills them quick. Off-road rig get the Odyssey. Huge difference I have noticed with lots of winching. No more dead battery problems with it.

That was me, the last one I tested put out like 985cca, not bad for $55!

I have one of their agms in my daily for a couple months now

my main tow rig is a duramax, I have 6 year old diehard platinum agms, what I'm loving is not getting corroded cables, I'll probably look at converting to top post walmart agm group 65s next time around, but will need to verify the quality is still there, not a behind the scenes supply line change

Buy 1 at a time online from Advance Auto, with coupon, pick up in store. Save $100. My last set lasted over 5 years:smokin:

I have had really good luck with Duracell AGM from Sam's Club. Inexpensive and a good warranty.
