I've never used them before (well except for .22LR). These are .30 caliber, 220 gr., and will be shot out of a 1/7" twist barrel at only around 520 fps. I don't see them being any problem, but does anyone have experience with them?

some of the plated ones will come apart in flight just like cast lead if you drive them too fast, but it doesn't seem like you're doing that
talking like 80gr bullets intended for .380 atop nuclear .357 mag loads

I'm reloading 9mm copper plated bullets going almost twice as fast with no issues. WTF are you shooting, or more aptly, lobbing at 520 fps??

The only thing I wouldn't do is throw the reloaded rounds back in the tumbler to clean them up. The bullets will get a few tiny dents and it just looks tacky...

Out of a slingshot maybe? My fuck up, it's 520 ME. The MV is around 1040 fps. They will be going through a 300BLK, 8" barrel, suppressed. I've read that there is very little risk of jacket separation and baffle damage at that velocity. We'll see.

That sounds better. I was wondering how you were getting 520fps.

Isn't that too much twist for the speed?
1:7" or 1:8" seems to be ideal for a 1.5-1.6" length 220 gr .308 bullet at 1000 fps or less. The slower the velocity, the faster twist is needed for the same stability factor and I will be shooting some with a MV below 1000 fps as well.

Are these the Berry's 300BLK bullets? If so, go very light on the crimp. 1:7 is the max twist and 1300fps max velocity.

if they do start blowing apart they're still good for blasting at clays thrown on the berm from like 10 feet away

learned that one with some 230gr cast 308 I was trying to get loaded hot enough to cycle an RFB

Yeah, they are Berry's. I ran through a few mags and didn't see any baffle damage so I think I'm good to go. I was just shooting at steel. I'll bring a paper target down today and see what the holes look like.

I shot these from about 4, 8 and 15 yards, top to bottom, with no suppressor. I don't see any sign of plating breakup so I guess things are good.
