Coming into town for 4 days.
Plan on doing Peterson Museum and Universal studios. Likely check out the filth on Hollywood Blvd (The Rainbow Bar?). Looking for other things too see.
I've been there but not in the last 20 years or so.
We are not high end people and light to live on the econo. side :grinpimp:
Thanks for reading this.
Mud.

Take a drive up Pacific Coast Hyw. The Lighthouse bar in Redondo beach was my go-to place if you like jazz. ( not sure if it is still in business).
There are some great Mexican take-outs all over the place. Usually brick and morter places don't serve cat... street vendors?????
Clasic concerts are good... La Brea Tar pits, Huntington Museum, Space Shuttle. yada yada ydad....

enjoy.:smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin:

Your in for a real treat after 20 years, a really shitty WTF happened treat.

Depending on how cheap you want to be, when im working in the filth of W Hollywood I like Carneys for lunch and beer to people watch and see high end cars ripping up and down sunset Blvd. its an old train restaurant thats historical or something.

If your feeling uppity theres an affordable but good bar/grill next door called Saddle Ranch Chop House.

If you go north up PCH to malibu…Go hit the canyons off PCH. Mulholland canyon, Diablo etc the whole area. Not sure if it’s all back open or if they’re closed still. Neptune’s net on PCH is where the opening scene from fast and furious is where Brian orders the tuna no crust. Point Magu is where 100s of car commercials have been filmed. Nobu in Malibu is great if you want an expensive dinner or if you want a cheap dinner there’s an ocean view McDonald’s across the street. Can’t remember the name of the Thai/sushi place up PCH but I enjoyed that too. Be careful after dark here they shoot radar

Theres an offroad area up north of san Gabriel reservoir.

Up hwy 39 from the 210.

Check out Azusa Canyon

While at the Peterson, take the time to go across the street to the LaBrea Tar Pits. Definitely a cool way to spend an afternoon ($15 each).

Find and consume copious amounts of Del Taco, it puts Taco Johns to shame. Avoid the fancy burritos and stick to basic Grilled Chicken Tacos. The Carne Asada fries are pretty good as well. If you go on Thursdays, the grilled chicken tacos are 3 for $3.19.

More traditional and boring (and more expensive) tacos can be found at Tito's in Culver City, bring cash (they never accepted cards in the past, not sure if that ever changed).

Spend an afternoon/evening at the Griffith Observatory ($10 each).

All of these are low-buck ideas and thoroughly enjoyable.

Minnesota checks out :flipoff2:

Del Taco mildly beats out Tacohell and most of the rest of the world has never even seen a Taco Johns, its like a scary story you threaten little mexican kids with.

I finally tried one in Minnesota a couple of years ago, The grown adults working there had purple hair, nose rings and black lipstick. I thought they were imported from LA :lmao:

I don't like Taco Johns, aside from their Chicken Quesadillas. My wife has gotten food poisoning twice at out local one.:shaking: She's from South Dakota, though, and thinks its good "Mexican" food.:lmao:
