What's new

the un-official California idiocy uber thread

There is an initiative on the CA November ballot to require personal finance class in HS. Voters not legislators did this.
Remember kids, pay all taxes. Repeat after me "it is normal to give 50% earnings to the state" & "any who gives less is greedy and evil"

:flipoff2: class complete

Good. IMO the only way for California to recover is for it to hit ROCK BOTTOM and that will take 1000's more businesses closing/leaving.

Arby’s- opened in 1969 - closes

Chuck Norris had a studio 2-3 stores to the east from that arby's. He was not very tall and an ASSHOLE. That arby's also also sold beer and wine and stopped around 1976-77. Trinidad Silva worked there he and played Jesus Martinez on hill street blues and lots of other shows.

How do I know this I worked there 1975-1978. I ended up as the graveyard shift manager. There were plenty of rock bands coming there after the clubs closed unfortunately I was not single. They did have real roast beef when I first started then went to chunks of beef in a beef paste in a plastic bag that were the perfect shape to put on the floor and run and slide across the room. I quit when my Daughter was born as I needed more $ and got a job at my uncle's machine shop across from the Burbank airport with Acme Gridley's machines. I started out cleaning them and washing parts.

Resurrecting this thread with possibly the most ludicrous use of taxpayer funds to date; bill would allow illegal aliens to get up to $150,000 in tax payer funds towards the purchase of a home in California.

I try to see both sides of the coin, even if I don't agree with them, and tend to land on the left more than most here, but I just don't see why the they want to help undocumented immigrants buy a first home.

Increase government spending
Increase demand which would surely raise prices
Doesn't help anyone who could vote for them

Might help property investors by driving up prices

Very likely to help banks and realtors... There it is

Sneak across the border to the south illegally and make sure to ask about all the free perks they are willing to offer you for doing so. :shaking:

They hate you and want to replace you with a more reliable voting block, this is about power above and beyond just money. It's not enough to just import voters and give them free money, they want to actively hurt the native Californian and drive them out to make room.

That 40% number is unacceptable to them, if you belong to a group that is that unreliable then you are to be persecuted and driven out.

Taking your money and giving it to illegal immigrants to buy homes would be just another humiliation ritual, the cost to society and explosion of home prices is a feature not a bug, they hate you and want you to know it.

The same thing they do with all welfare programs, they're buying votes.

Thanks, honestly, I hadn't been able to come up with something.

I just wasn't thinking long term enough.

Pair this with an easier path to citizenship and it makes more sense.

Illegal immigrants will have kids, probably already do, those kids are natural born citizens, who can vote.

Anyone saying that this is a ploy for “voters,” has clearly NOT been paying attention. They have repeatedly shown that they don’t need voters to impose their will.

the fox news adblocked me, but I found a true gem in this link

The California Dream for All Program in June awarded 1,700 first-time homebuyers with financial assistance of up to 20% of a home's value for down payment and closing cost help. But the program ran out of funds within its first 11 days this year, an issue that was at the center of Tuesday's debate on the Senate floor.

So they don't even have enough funding for legals so let's add illegals into the eligible pool too.. :clown2:

Another interesting point at the hyperlink in the quote- in order to be eligible, your parents can't own a home in the US either...

All they want is the ability to say that they did something.
Whether or not that something is funded or feasible isn't of concern when you're just looking for a talking point on the campaign trail

Funny, because @jeff555 and I have snuck into mexico and been "undocumented" for about a month. Like litterally up a river and across into farm fields to avoid the boarder checkpoint since I didnt have any paperwork.:lmao:
