Moving away from my ‘72 Blazer build that some may be familiar with from the other forum with tube, cage, rocks, 47s, doubler, 6:1, propane, etc. broken trans that I’m hoping to replace this fall/ winter to start wheeling again next year.

Took a ‘18 JLUR and added a few garage crawler parts.

2” Mopar Lift with correction pads
Steer Smarts tie rod and drag link
Synergy Sector Shaft Brace
MetalCloak FAD skid
CavFab front and rear bumpers
CavFab tailgate carrier
Warn Evo 10S with F55 Flatlink
37” Patagonias with stock wheels on 1.5” spacers
HikeIt throttle module

for the true mall crawler status, added a stubby antenna, Husky floor mats, Rugged Ridge cargo mat, rear bench recline kit, and an onboard Jscan :flipoff2:

Pending: some actual fabrication to mount my front steering stabilizer. :stirthepot: And mount some oracle pods on some Artec dual cowl light mounts :flipoff2:

and yes she’s been named after she tried to cut off my leg. Christine seemed appropriate.

Headed to the San Juan Mountains and Moab in late July. Figured this subforum could use some traffic anyway :flipoff2:

It's very unfortunate but I am a fan of the JL and the JT. I'm kinda interested to see where you go with it. I know I love my Patagonia MT on my ZJ.

Looks good. I took the jump into the JLU's as well. Aesthetically, they look a helluva lot better than the JK.

I need to check out CavFab. Always been a fan of the VKS stubby bumpers, nothing like taking a recip saw to a Jeep to cut some of the frame horns off. I see the crash bar still attached, are you going to hack that shit off? There is clearance to rotate the swaybar motor as well. Only think, you may have to notch the bumper, but that's not that big of deal.

I agree. I was initially in the market for a JK because I wanted to stay within a certain budget. I had found a ‘15 JKUR with lots of mods that I really liked. The day before I was going to go get it the seller said his wife didn’t want him to sell it. Pissed me right off as I had already made all my arrangements to go get it. Shortly after, my buddy led me to a JLUR for sale locally. I knew right after that I had to have a JL. Completely different animals. Passed on the local JL though as it was overpriced for the work/ repairs that it needed.

It’s been difficult but my plans from the beginning have been NOT to get too crazy with it. When I ordered my bumpers, I didn’t want to modify and cut stuff so opted to upgrade the crash bar to the Cav Fab skid. My thought process is too REALLY be careful how and where I wheel this thing which is thorough research on the upcoming trip to Moab. I learned my hard lesson from my ‘72 Blazer. :homer:

Mounted up some Oracle pods with Artec mounts. Clean, easy install with the Mopar auxiliary switches. Took me way longer to bolt the pods to the mounts. Major PITA.

She’s ready to rock’n’crawl next week. Added a few more parts, hardwired my cargo light on a switch, and put in a cargo basket.

Took it to Hidden Falls Adventure Park last weekend. Did everything I threw at it and only backed off one obstacle after my buddy blew an axle ujoint and we also rushed to help a guy that fell off his dirt bike. Guess the next round of mods to consider are belly skids and better rock rails. I’d like to plan a Wolfcaves trip early next year if it doesn’t sell.

Finally got around to uploading a quick video from the weekend.

Continuing to plug away at this thing. Swapped the 1.5 spacers for some Synergy 1.75” spacers and installed front/ rear Rough Country inners in the hopes of curing some light rubbing at full stuff. I’m hoping I don’t have to do lift adjustments Or limit travel. Considering a trip to Wolf Caves next month but I’d like to put in some belly skids and some aftermarket rock sliders after the new year.
