Pivot 429 Trail

Actually might try to ride a little tomorrow or Saturday. :homer:

coming from a '10 stumpjumper, everything about this thing felt wrong. took me a few rides to get adjusted, but i am feeling better now.

The slack head tube angle is a game changer for sure. It's what I felt was wrong with old cobbled together Jenson USA frame.

Raleigh XXIX Pro frame .... the rest was all mix & match pieces. DT240 hubs. Mavic Rims. Full XT group. Reba Recon RL. But I bucked the norm by picking BB7 brakes.

That said ..... I'm looking for some hydro brakes to replace what I have. What does everyone have for sale? :grinpimp:

Really need to find a dropper post too.

Just traded a Norco Sight 27.5" for Niner Jet 9 29" with upgrades, stock one is pictured.
It has a single front sprocket, Crank Brothers wheels, bar, neck, pedals, cranks, and blah, blah, blah...
The geometry is way better for the upright, trail type riding I do with my kids. I'm not bombing down hills. It is much lighter and easier to pedal, especially in soft dirt I was amazed the difference.

Have an older Spesh Crux that I use for commuting. But I have taken it on the mtb trails for shits and giggles.

I've been saving my pennies to get another bike together. Will probably be some sort of carbon singlespeed.

And I still jump on my old school hardtail from time to time. Built it in high school and have been riding it 18+ years

I have a 2014 Breezer Repack. I was kinda considering getting something new this summer then all the bikes everywhere sold out, so I overhauled it instead with a new 1x drivetrain and new 30mm width wheel set. By the time I'm ready to upgrade in a couple of years all these bikes sold this summer that have been ridden a half dozen times will be flooding the used market and I'll be able to buy a sweet ass nearly new bike for pennies on the dollar. :smokin:

Old school. You're a nut. Ride something new, it'll warp your mind.

My Commencal is technically an enduro as a hard tail. Party in the front, business in the back.

Those are disc brakes with 660mm rotors :flipoff2:

Fun fact. I raced cross country in high school with a Cannondale F700 (that I traded a pair of Doc Martens for ). The back rim was so warped I had no brakes. I won too much with that thing because I had zero back brakes, they made me jump a class to semi-pro and was accused of sand bagging. The semi-pro guys put me in my place badly.

2018 Intense Carbine. Some kind of special sauce in this bike because I was blowing downhill PRs out of the water left and right. I hadn't come close to any of those since I stopped racing about 9 years ago. It's actually for sale now if anyone is looking for an XL that rips:

Also just picked up a fun nukeproof scout 290. New tires, and brakes are in the mail. I'm debating just running the existing crappy drivetrain through winter before upgrading that.

I also sometimes swoop the wife's medium ebike so I can not work as hard when I pedal my 33 lb co-pilot up big hills on the mac ride.

Main bike (90% of the time) is a Specialized Enduro Expert Carbon. Also ride a Trek Top Fuel shorter travel and a Marin San Quentin hardtail.

Canyon Grail for gravel rides and an Evil Offering for trail rides. Probably going to upgrade to the Chamois Hagar in the spring. Fat and out of shape and slow as fuck uphill and down but it's fun!

I picked up this 2009 Stumpjumper FSR from a local ReStore for $150. They had it marked at $300 but had a deal that day for 1/2 off of everything (Black Friday). I do not think they knew what they had nor do I think the person who donated it knew either. I actually was not there at the time. My wife called me and, having dated me during a good chunk of the 13 years that I worked at a bike shop, recognized that the bike was quality and looked wayy under priced. I told her to send me a pic and when she did, my jaw dropped haha. I told her to put her hands on it and do not let it go until it is in the back of the truck

Up until this point I was still rocking my 2005 Raleigh Mojave 5.0 (with upgrades). I donated that bike to my Brother-in-law because he was wanting to get into MTB riding but had some 90s clunker.
