It's definitely interesting how when one of the minorities they claim to celebrate doesn't fall in line, they get viciously attacked. Like, wait... I thought criticizing a minority for political positions automatically made you a racist sexist xenophobic transphobic homophobe? It's almost like that was just cover to dismiss someone you disagree with.

It's why I'm voting for Trump this time around. I honestly can't stand the guy and I have endless disagreements with GOP policy positions. But the Democrats have just lost their fucking minds.

There's also the reality that in recent years the left tends to severely tip their own hand because they will generally start accusing the other side of doing exactly what they actually intend to do so that they can turn around and cry "whataboutism" when there's backlash when they start doing it. What are they doing right now? Crying about protecting our democracy because if Trump gets elected there won't be any future elections. Now who voted for Kamala Harris to be their POTUS nominee? Hmmm...
 
I believe dot Gov tried price controls in either 60s or early 70s telling butchers what the cost of certain cuts of beef should cost, so they just cut a different way and renamed it. I don't know for sure just something I heard from someone older
 
The government can never accept that the government is the problem. All of our regulatory agencies are captured by the major players of the industries they're supposed to be regulating. The most powerful companies essentially get to make the rules within their industry then get passes from the regulators because A) they're the "experts" and B) it's a revolving door between the agencies and the power player companies. So what happens? The "regulations" in essence just become ways of limiting competitors. There becomes so much bureaucratic red tape that the barriers to entry becomes insurmountable if you don't have endlessly deep pockets. All that red tape is a rounding error for multi-million dollar companies but to smaller companies they just can't afford to compete.

The American Dream used to be to start a company that would excel that you could pass down to future generations. The new American Dream is to start a company and grow so fast that your mistakes hopefully don't catch up with you (and you don't run out of $$$ and credit) before you can get bought out by some corporate outfit and cash in your chips. That's sad to me.

Price controls was huge during the rise of the CCP & USSR and such for the first half ish of the 20th century. Multiple massive wars about it

They have been but good luck finding any stories or interviews unless you watch Fox and follow Fox on X. The rest of the media simply ignores it.
