What the fuck is that? Antarctica?
On the MT/WY border just sw of Billings.
Pretty drive up a really windy road.
I’ve only been on it a couple of times. It’s a full day loop to run from Bozeman through Yellowstone park and then up and over to Red Lodge. You can take interstate back to shorten the day or loop around north or south for more views.

I tried to drive it a number of times, but I was always too early or too late until August 2019. It was 82* in Red Lodge and 40* up at the pass.
I went over it in early July 2020 when I was camping on the WY side at Island Lake. Absolutely incredible scenery.

That dirt road in the background of your first pic I think is Hell Roaring Plataea trail, we used to go hike up there to the back lakes and camp and fish. Caught the biggest fish to date on a fly rod, 16" Lake Trout.

Also along one of the guardrails, may be where your picture was taken if you look over the edge into the rocky canyon you can see a old rusty piece of road equipment from when they were building the original road. It went over the edge and is still there.

This is on Hell Roaring looking back at the highway. Dad's in the picture

Looking at the beartooth area across the valley:

On the way to Goose Lake off the highway heading to Cooke City:

This was on the way to Lolo Pass, we couldn't figure out what this was at first, looked like a snow bank with a bunch of left over logs. Well truns out it was the result of an avalanche. The is a pile of all the trees and log in this next section smashed into the opposite side of the canyon.

started way up there and cleaned out that entire section.

Rode this on my motorcycle in 2021, will be up there at the end of June with my wife on the way to Yellowstone.

Beautiful pics.:smokin:

I've always wondered if you could travel the dirt roads that you can see from the beartooth.

The Teton pass is closed.

Yeah... that's going to take a while to fix. Really fucks up the jobs I have going on in the Jackson area.
