Kinda thinking about picking something up.

Not sure what is a decent beginner unit.

Would like something decent bat am not looking to spend 6+grand.

Interested...have considered the celestron ones when they always go on sale at amazon.

Perfect timing. I bought an Orion just last week. Pretty decent, I think, but I don’t know what I’m doing with it. Still, though, we were able to look at Saturn and Jupiter. Saw saturns rings and 4 of Jupiter’s moons, but you couldn’t make out any more detail than that. This is the starblast 4.5 altazimuth model. I did just get a Chinese Barlow to double the power to 150X, so we’ll see if that shows any more detail on the planets. I don’t expect it to, though.

I bought the Orion 4.5 Starblaster table top. Its good for Moon and planets. Get the Barlow lense and a moon filter.

Been wanting to pick one up for a while to shoot the shit with the kids in the evenings. The binoculars just aren’t cutting it. :flipoff2:
