Aside from the crazy expensive Snap On Tech Angle, are there other contenders?

3/8", flex head, has torque angle. (I don't need often, but TTY bolts are getting more common)

I got the Gearwrench 85078 and it's hot trash.

Takes a good 10-15 seconds to reset after each torque. Imagine doing a trans pan with 25 bolts so an extra 5-6 MINUTES is added per round... times 3 or 4.

Carlyle has the CHT CDTW38FL, but it's Snap On money ($475)

I have the Carlyle in 1/2" but it's the older blue handle and I paid around $150 a few years ago when they had a sale.

in my opinion this is a good area to spend snapon money, way easier to use and faster than the matco/gearwrench. The cdi wrenches arent any cheaper than snapons.

I'm eyeing a few on ebay for $250-300. Still a bunch to spend on something I don't use everyday.

I have a bunch of clickers, but they're getting old and several were Snap On culls from work (couldn't maintain +/- 2 or 5% accuracy)

Not too bad doing torque angle if you can see the socket or room for the old school dial tool, but not always able.

Not sure where you are, but CDI is cheaper than Snappy up here. My 1/2" clicker is a CDI and it's beaut.

5 minutes of google came up with that, i may very well be wrong…
I paid $240 CAD for my CDI clicker. Same one from snapon is $665 from their online store. Now granted you won't pay the online store price from the truck necessarily, and the snappy has their dual 80 heads, the CDI doesn't...but otherwise it's identical for less than half the price.

That said, the CDI torque angle ones are closer in price to the snapon ones....so you're probably closer to right there.

Completely OT, but this looked like you need it.

Found a deal on the newer Tech Angle on Ebay. Course they shipped it USPS parcel post, so it'll be near a month before it arrives, and closer to 2 by the time I'm home to go get it from the post office.

I bought an old college book for designing radiant heat and boiler systems off the Ebay in June. They decided to ship it media rate USPS. It just arrived yesterday.
