I've found the corner pins in a heavily wooded piece of acreage i'm purchasing using 100' tape measure and metal detector, but i'm trying to narrow in on a vector that is obscured by dense woods, so approximating the point below would be helpful.

Can anyone solve for segments x and y in the shape below?

The vertical blue segment is offset to the right of the dotted line slightly. If the 223, 85, and drawn hypotenuse angle are accurate...that's what you get.

I had my lot lines flagged earlier this summer, was around $600. Knew the corners, but wasn't too sure the actual line.

Didn't want to end up clearing on not my land... which I found the previous owner had in one area.

Bush hogged the lower section last week, maybe an acre or so and barely could fine the next flag the sureveors put with how think and tall the brush was. Couldn't even see the Ferd in the lower driveway before.

Had hoped it was a bit further, there's maybe 10 trees that I'd want to drop to open up my mtn view.

this is why I man the seller show me the pins before I buy :grinpimp:
As stated in the OP, I've already located all the pins, this exercise serves to help establish the line/vector in a dense forest so I don't accidentally bush hog a trail cutting through the neighbor's lot.

we may have found something that is actually cheaper at in AK; The estimate I got was in the multiple thousands for 10 acres, for $500 around here they'll survey a .75 acre lot.

going in a strait line is the challenge?
