Stupid alkaline batteries

Rayovac are the worst in my experience. They would start leaking in the package. They did have a warranty for 10 years so I filed a claim. They sent me a refund and a coupon for another pack of rayovac or energizer batteries. I guess they are owned by the same parent company. The energizers haven’t leaked yet. The regular Duracells leak too but not near as bad as the rayovacs. I use mostly rechargeable Amazon brand and eneloop batteries when I don’t need them to be disposable. They don’t seem to last quite as long as regular alkaline but they are easy to recharge. I keep a few extras so when they die the charged ones go in and the dead ones get charged and then ready for the next use.

Used to get shitloads free. Friend of a friend did maintenance in commercial buildings and had to change the 9v in the smoke alarms every year. 98% of them still full power.
