Stuck 3rd Member

Have you ever had your member stuck????? I can’t get it out! 😁

In all seriousness. Axles are out, all the nuts are off the 3rd member and it won’t budge. It’s a diamond housing if that makes any difference. Hammering with a mallet as hard as I can, a 2lb sledge as hard as I’m comfortable with, even tried working a chisel under the edge with a hammer and it just won’t budge. I’m scared I’m going to crack the case if I hit it too hard. I even used a 2x4 against it with my 2lb sledge and nothing, except I smashed the 2x4 to bits.

Im open to suggestions.

I guess I just had to quit being a wussy about it. Finally got it out.

Yes, a ton of rtv. And to be honest I was kind a dummy. I had the 3rd member straight up on axle stands. I rotated it down and let gravity help and was able to get a screw driver under it.

Had to do this recently and just worked a few thin straight blade screwdrivers into the gap to gradually wedge it apart. Also RTV'ed to hell on there.

I realized afterwards that I could have put the housing under the legs of my cherry picker and used that to pop it off. Could have worked, could have been an epic fail...
