What's new

Stop project shopping?

Sure. Ok grandpa. Whatever you say.

If that is in fact what they're doing then they're telling a lot of people who have the title to trashed cars to fuck off. Rusty shit with a rod knock or whatever.

Or they're taking a loss/breakeven when shops send them that shit because they wanna be on shop's good side because parts sales.
Im 49 you dildo. As for the rest, its called a business relationship.

I dragged a complete but rotten 84 4x4 4spd ranger home weeks ago, then I drag most of a rust free 90 2wd 2.9 auto roller home. Plan is to duraspark and 2150 carb the 2.8 drop it in the 90.

So of course I start looking for a 2.9 cause I know a guy with half dozen v6 a4ld’s :shaking:
sounds like it needs a deutz air cooled diesel

Hi, I’m bad zuki, and I have a problem. Apparently……

Im finally down to 10 vehicles. But this factory 4wd camper needed a home, and I didn’t want it staying out in the cold.

How could you say no to that chin?

Who did the conversion?
I've got one very similar 78 with a pathfinder conversion, d44 with double panhard bars, and the extra long t case adaptor

Its an 81 Mobile Traveller Camper converision. The 4wd was done by 4 Wheel Drive Engineering and it has a D44 front. The leaf springs are held on by that massive bumper.

My girlfriend said "it looks like a horse trailer and a pickup had a baby"... and I want it! :smokin:

All I got. My reasoning is the 1/2 ton was lonely and needed a friend. Already got the intake manifold off doing vortec 350 things
Wait, that's a nv4500 truck!!!!

Lol, It has barn doors in the back. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it...

Fucker looks clean. :smokin: What did you pay??

I'm not actively looking to sell it, but I've been asked about the 1970 chevy truck a couple times and threw them a price. I also flat told them that "if i get waht I'm asking I'll let it go, if not, I'll keep it as a project"
I spend so much time on call and all now days, and honestly for the last few years have felt like i was drowning in projects and never gaining any real ground on any of them. If I'm working on the truck I feel like "i should be messing with the boat" if i'm working on the sailboat, or sailing it, i feel like "i should be messing with the truck"
Let alone projects around the house that never end. If I can get rid of the truck and focus on the sailboat I'm all for it. I too have the disease though of "oh I'd hate to see that go to the scrap yard" so who knows how long that would last if i got rid of the truck lol.

It won't go away lol. If you are like me, once there's space for something it gets filled quick. I'm really working on that though. Unfortunately solution is looking like a pole barn:homer:

I'm pretty sure I bought the last $3k EB project in America about 5 years ago. I don't think I've seen one under that since.
Pretty sure I posted one here. Was on Marthas Vinyard so add $300 of ferry bullshit. It went quick.

I have never bought anything off FB because I dont have an account and Gregslist is dead so have not got anything off there in 10+ Years. But that does not stop me from dragging junk home.

I have a real problem. I dont have time for any projects and I have quit counting at 30 vehicles. Now my wife has caught the addiction and has a 1970 C20 and 3 weeks after getting it she found another truck a 1981 Ford we went and looked at it but I talked her out of it. I told her I would only say yes to the Ford if it had all the right options and was rust free. It wasnt so I told her no on it.

solution is a service truck and a couple big fans and umbrellas to keep the bugs and sun off you, respectively

because the pole shed no matter how big will be clogged with projects quick

I bought the "final" project. I wanted another old Mopar so I bought a basket case 69 Road Runner so I think I am done with buying keeper cars. Naturally now that I bought it there are a lot of options for sale, but no affordable RR's. But is what I was after, and has all the documentation and matching numbers etc. Pretty excited. It is a gold with a tan interior which is retro cool. They did all the body work (I didn't need much) and then it sat.

Of course now I need to sell off a couple of other less desirable projects of mine in a downturn but so be it.

I kinda grew up around Mopars. Dad worked at a dealer, best friends dad was a mechanic and raced them etc. I don't consider myself a "Mopar or no car" kinda dude. I am pretty open-minded when it comes to cars, hence my screen name.

Looked at a lot of older cars and owned alot. I keep coming back to 68-70 B bodies as my favorite.

The mopar culture is not real appealing to me anymore. Their obsession with numbers and tags is kinda strange, reliance on antiquated tech etc. is not really me. But I do really like the cars. I don't like paying 900 for a fender etc. but if I am going to lay on my back for two years repairing something it may as well be something I am passionate about.

For this this car I will probably ad maybe EFI and a few upgrades. I have another car to modify.

Hope to start in on it in the fall.

It's like a giant contest to see who can be the biggest fucking nerd with the most useless info on tap. I worked with one that didn't even have an old Mopar anymore but he'd sure tell you anything you ever wanted to know about mid-late 70's malaise era Dodges at the drop of hat even if you weren't asking.
