Customer wanted a sub but didn't want it taking up cargo space. I went over several options for location/placement and we finally decided to go with the space between the 2nd row seats.

Had a little cancellation because the sub was near the center of the cabin, but it's what he wanted.

Put a custom-built Supercharged DD Audio 3510ESP in this one.

Hector had never been on the router before I decided to teach him on this enclosure. He did half of a layer and let me take back over. Scared.

This enclosure is built using multiple layers of the correct profile stacked on top of one another. The enclosure volume, port, and internal bracing were all built into each layer.

Lots of math to get this one right. I wanted it tuned to 35 Hz. Measured 35.1 Hz when it was done.

Since the enclosure needed bracing I built that into four layers.

The customer didn't understand what I was building and how it would sit in the vehicle. Took these pics to show him and let him get a better understanding of the enclosure.

Get a haircut hippy!! :flipoff2::flipoff2:

Thats awesome work! I cant imagine the boringness of running that pattern but all those times though.

Do you do your own sewing and upholstery work or farm it out?

Hey ProjectTwin

Done anything cool for the current generation, 4 door Tacoma trucks? I think one is in my future

Really nice work, do you happen to have more pics? Maybe from the sides of the finished box on the bench, or even from the front seats looking back?

I'm trying to figure out what's part of your box, and what's factory. I guess that's a compliment too:smokin:

Great. Fucking. Work. Thanks for the time to do these threads.

Nice work!!! More wip pic please! I’m interested in how you did the upholstery. Upholstery is Voodoo To me.

That is absolutely fucking sick.... where were you when I was in high school?!?!?

EDIT: That reads rude but it's 100% not....Seriously sweet.

The upholstery that requires stitching gets sent to an upholstery shop. Everything else I do.

Pay someone to do it.

Thats pretty badass, and very creative. Scroll saw or jigsaw?

All router.

A 1/4 spiral flush trim bit makes short work of stuff like this. Using a jig saw to rough cut before routing is just wasted time.

I wish that I could get a 8” sub box for my NC Miata. You do amazing work.

Always cool to see a skilled craftsman at work, no matter the media.

God bless, I hope you have a CNC router. Laser would work great too(and do more).

Ballpark cost? Curiosity.

Meanwhile I have a powered sub just thrown behind the seat.

I'm amazed at how factory that looks.

Thanks.

I wish I had a CNC router. Would save time.

This was a $1,500 enclosure. He paid $500 for upholstery on top of that.

Incredible looking shit!

I'm always amazed at the price of upholstery work, not-so-custom work I mean.

Vb on that DD box?

Amazing. The craftsmanship is fantastic!
