RadialDynamics
Yellow Skull
Whether you are racing or rec wheeling, it's never too early to start thinking about fire safety.
Radial Dynamics is your authorized dealer and service center for fire suppression systems and handheld extinguishers from SPA Technique, one of the leading manufacturers of fire safety equipment in the motorsports industry. The market for on-board suppression systems can be overwhelming with the variety of extinguishing agent types, approval agencies, and activation styles so for those interested in learning more, I have prepared the following overview article: A Practical Guide to Fire Suppression Systems
To boil it all down for the off-road market specifically, I recommend SFI 17.1 approved FireSense and FireSense+ systems as the most ideal options to protect a tube chassis buggy or truck/SUV and with complete systems starting at $350, protection is more affordable than many realize.

- Both FireSense and FireSense+ are AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam) systems. AFFF is a low expansion foam that produces a stable, heat-resistant, and self-sealing blanket to smother a fire and prevent re-ignition by preventing oxygen contact with fuel.
- 5 lb. or 10 lb. bottle sizes available:
- 5 lb. systems include 2 spray nozzles and are the minimum recommended size for a recreational vehicle.
- 10 lb. systems include 4 spray nozzles and are strongly recommended for all vehicles but especially for racing applications.
- When it comes to bottle size, "bigger is better".
- FireSense systems use a product called FireAde Climate Control which is a low temperature AFFF with proprietary additives to lower the freezing point to -40F.
- FireSense+ systems use a product called 4Fire which is another low temperature AFFF suitable for use down to -22F. It is generally slightly more expensive than an equivalent FireAde system but 4Fire exhibits better fire-out properties in testing.
- Activation options are by one of three methods (combo heads are available):
- Mechanical (pull cable)
- Electrical (push button)
- Automatic (thermal bulb)
