I need a cable for my predator swapped golf cart. Tried a push/pull the the length and radius it needs to bend are too much and it takes way too much force to move it. Needs to be a flexible cable one and I can't seem to find any that aren't for some uncommon golf cart and $150.

I'd like to find a cam style like this that locks on, but these particular ones are all too short.

Anyone know some vehicle or ATV that has a similar lever that uses a typical throttle or brake cable connection?

Just use a bicycle shifter as a hand throttle like crawlers with manuals have done for decades?

Mounting would be a pain and I'd have to make it like 8' long to put it in a usable location. A knob or cam style in the factory location would the most ideal and easiest.

Mounting is as simple as making a little bolt on "handlebar" and attaching it to the stock location. cable length is easily trimmable.

or use a piece of all thread , some washers and nuts to make your own bulkhead fitting that fits the stock hole. then clamp the shifter to it.

Because that it s right under the driver's seat and would constantly get kicked or snagged when getting in and out of the seat.

I bought a 6 foot push pull cable from McMaster, do not know if they had a locking one. I have also bought the one you picture but not sure if it was 5 foot.

Linear actuator and a momentary switch? Can you do hard mounts in place of bends? I’ve done that a few times and it’s worked well if a bit more work.

They must have it in McMaster. That’s were I got this one.

Couldn't tell if most of the snowmobile ones had removable cables or not. Ended up finding this one that obviously does.

I'll pair that with a generic throttle cable and should be good to go. :smokin:

I never think to look at McMaster for stuff like this. :homer: That would have worked. Although I kind of like the cam locking one like I ended up ordering. This thing is finicky and no matter how much I tune it, it's never really happy when it's cold and then it's unpredictable when it's warm. The FWD-REV is done via a cable to the axle housing and it has to be idled way down, almost to the point of stalling to switch directions. When it's cold, I can just let off the choke until it almost dies. When it's warm, it sometimes likes to idle pretty high and you can choke it to bring it down. It also needs about 20-30 seconds of running with the chock when it's cold. Kind of annoying, but China.

Do you have a truck supply shop local? Last I needed one, I hit up the local shop that sold parts for tow trucks and similar.

Last time I needed a cable I had one built to spec at controlcables.com I think they can pretty much make whatever you want
