Bad idea if the battery is integrated into the same housing as the charger and light. That stuff gets hot. Lithium no likey. (R)ough country had a battery powered 12v electric fridge. They discontinued it when it burnt down a few vehicles.

I actually just bought one from "Home and Lighting" last week.

Shipped quick, its a 9500 lumen that looks like your pic. Three settings, dusk to dawn, timed (several presets), dusk to dawn at 30% power but kicks on 100% with motion sensor. Comes with a remote. One year warranty, five year battery life. Two hours of sun will power it for 14 hours supposedly. Charges on cloudy days supposedly. So far its great. Replaceable battery.

I got it at about 15' up on a wood electric pole, about 35' from the porch steps. Walk to edge of porch and it detects our movement. We have five steps down to a slate walk to the drive. Does a really good job imho.

The bracket is sold separately. That pissed me off some, but whatever. I bought two solar motion lights at Harbor Freight, both are dead six months in.

This is way better.

This is on at 100% in the pic.

Like many of these retailers there are several sizes, some have sizable panels included.

I forget where you live, but all the ones I've tried don't work well in winter, which is when light is needed.

Too cold and not enough light to charge.
Well duh:homer:

I'm sure he's normal and lives where there's light in the winter.:flipoff2:

I've been on the hunt for parking lot lights that are solar for a project I'm doing. There are a few options out there. I agree with the battery being separate from the housing.

Liking these at the moment.

I have the shitty harbor freight edition. I was quite disappointed to realize it runs on low at dusk till the battery is dead, brightens when motion is detected, I think at best I get four hours of low light. If I’m doing something under it, it’s really annoying With the bright and dim as I’m moving around and away from it and then back to it, it might last an hour those times.

I am interested in this thread. We like to work our horses at night during the hot summer months. A couple of those bad boys would do the trick. Winter; would only be needed to muck out in the early morning or evening for an hour..... :smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin:
