Trail food is always better warm in the winter. People have been cooking manifold burritos for years. My problem with manifold cooing is when you get rowdy on the trail it is easy to loose the snacks to the wild critters.

Here is a solution to the problem. Simple recipe. 50 caliber ammo box + spectra 99225 heater core. No idea on the vehicle application. Sealed latching lid keeps the heat in won't let you snacks escape.
Jody may try to sneak in for action, so locks may be needed.

Hotbox is plumbed in series with the vehicle heater core. The logic here is with no fan in the box there is very little coolant temp differential across the core. That ensures the coolant to the vehicle heater core is still very hot.
Hose routeing is water pump out > hotbox in > hotbox out > vehicle heater core in > vehicle heater core out > water pump in.

The heater core is very, very tight in the box. No need to retain it from moving around. I looked for other cores to fit in the box and ended up on this one. If anyone finds a core that also fits better please share.

You like hot beer? Never had it so not gonna judge.:flipoff2:

That does look really slick.

Odd ball question. Could the same thing be done off of AC lines to make a cooler?

My parent's neighbor, who we thought was like 140 yrs old, would drink piss warm Old Milwaukee with a few shakes of salt.

I've cooked hotdogs with a propane torch and screwdriver.
Or just eat them from the pack, cooking takes too long anyhow.

The food goes in the box while you're out wheeling around:shaking: So technically you aren't waiting for anything, It's just there.

The box will hold and 8 pack after the core is installed for size reference.

"I mean nobody wants to admit they eat 8 cans of ravioli, but I did and I'm ashamed of myself. The first can doesn't count and then you get to the second, and the third. The fourth and fifth I think I burnt with the blow torch and I just kept eating."

I had the choice of 12 oz cans or quarts of oil. Cans won the coin toss.

Technically yes the air conditioning evaporator core could be used to cool items. Although I would prefer the item to be ME!

To keep from the heater core getting beat up, I'm guessing a piece of 18 or 20ga sheetmetal with some holes punched it in and the sides folded and rivet, sheetmetal screw, or tacked to the case would do the trick.

Loader I used to run had a door in the ducting. Open it up an toss in a couple bottles of water. A/C would blow on it. Worked pretty good

That's a great idea. I need to see if there's anywhere under my hood I can fit that.

I have a MuffPot, I've been told by my snowmobiler friends that they work great, but I couldn't find a place for it on my exhaust close enough to the engine to be hot, but also reasonably easy to access.

The snowmobile guys will throw a frozen burrito in there in the morning, and have warm lunch.
