So first day of school...

Week 3ish finishing up. 6th grade in Kansas. Masks and distance, but in class learning. There have been lots of positive teachers and students in our district, but amazingly they are forging ahead and not calling it. 5k person town. Pleasantly surprised.

Kids in our towns started school today, my wife was almost in tears this morning watching the kids wearing masks and the parents taking pictures and hugging and kissing them as they got on the bus. The parents were trying to make it seem like a regular first day of school and it sadden her

Almost through week two, son is a freshman, and the school sends us a letter that somebody in school tested positive. Everybody in contact has been contacted by the admins. We didn't hear a word ... apparently neither have any of the students because our kids was surprised to hear it.

I can’t be thankful enough that this Spring my youngest finished and earned his Eagle Scout, turned 18, and graduated all in May.

You guys with little ones trying to pull this shitshow off deserve a beer.

But just think how fast word will get around that any kid faking sick gets the qtip. I’m thinking record breaking perfect attendance this year.

my wife is on her 3rd day back teaching. A kid in another class went home with a 101 temp. She said they came in dressed up like they were carting away ET. Kid is probably traumatized for life now.

Yep, The qtip ain't fun... Things are going somewhat smoothly at our school now... I feel bad for my kid though as she really wants to play with her friends and they are forcing distancing strictly on the playground. Its hard to be a little girl, tell secrets, and play with Hatchimals 6' apart. I'm worried that this will cause an entire generation to be even more socially awkward.

Our kids have been back in the classroom for 3 or 4 months now.
They all catch a packed bus together, sit in full classrooms together, play together like normal at lunchtime.
No-one wears a mask and no-one is getting sick.
