What's new

Spent the day with my cousin in my old ship.

Shot my .348 and I don’t remember it kicking that much. I must becoming a wuss but I was happy with the group at 100 with the peep sights. Other than that nothing special today.

In.

I got a wild hair and got busy cleaning the showers hard water film with some CLR, GF had never used it before but she was blown away with how easy it removed the film. I almost busted out my ceramic coat stuff just for fun and to see if it might help with the film. I decided it would be too much work and shelved that idea.

We did a Costco run but it was too late in the day, the place was a gong show and about 20 min into shopping we both had to get out before one of us kicked someone.

GF started a nice crock of my fave beans and they should be ready PDQ, I am gonna eat myself sick on 'em and hit the rack.

Well dinner was all f'ed up.
Went to first place, was given a gift card....
Go there, was a line. They said 1/2 hour max....say ok......standing there and notice people leaving....but they are not seating people.
2 spots open at bar. Go to bar...have drinks.
Find out the kitchen is closed....till they catch up with orders...say another 1/2....
F that.... pay for drinks.
Go to a wood fired pizza place...get pizzas in 10 minutes.

In. Went to mom's and put a hitch on her little Korean rickshaw so she can drag the garbage cans down to the end of the road. First, left the bag of hardware and instructions at home, so I got to make a trip back for those. Whole job is 4 fucking bolts and I was ready to throw shit by the time I got that thing installed, definitely something that needed another set of hands since you gotta have the hitch up in place and fish bolts through the unibody with a wire to install it.

Came home and cleared some branches and shit that have been hanging out in the street since the last wind storm. Fucknuts across the street is too busy to deal with his tree falling over so I cut it back to the fence so we have kinda 2 lanes again.

Spent some time at the welding table on Jeep stuff, waiting on parts but it's nice to get something accomplished.

Did nothing most of today. Started working on my drill press again this evening. Got the new bearings on the quill. After a quick trip to Harbor Freight, I started trying to pull the old ones off of the pulley. They are this annoying extended inner race design. The one on the skinny side of the pulley is annoying since I have limited scrap aluminum to use as spacers, and wide side bearing seems to be recessed slightly into the pulley. I am not looking forward to starting on that one.

Slept late , cooked some bacon but it smelled funky , checked the sell by date and it was 5 weeks ago .

So I had cheese biscuits instead of bacon and cheese biscuits

Loaded up my 6x 12 trailer with old rotten fence materials

Modified a gate latch and install it on my new privacy gate I had to build cause the city was up my ass about being able to see all the junk in my side and backyard

Moved the boom lift to a new location and set it up ,

Once I got it raised I discovered it was about six feet off from where it needs to be so had to hitch it back up and reposition it .

Took it for a ride to the top and discovered that my chimney chase is as rotten as I thought it was

Least I don’t have to do the work on a ladder .

Ordered a new mirror glass for the 02 Liberty that I think we got a buyer for .

We paid $550 for it 6 years ago put 100k more miles on it and think I got a buyer for $2500 . We hardly ever drive it and the city is up my ass for having cars that wernt parked on a hard surface driveway .

We currently have 9 vehicles and we gotta thin the herd a little if the city is gonna give me shit for parking them in the yard and not on the driveway .

Think the Falcon station wagon might be the next to go .

The Liberty wasn’t a terrible car , over the years we replaced one broken valve spring , replace the transmission when it went out with one from a junkyard for $400, and put new tires on it ( the ones that were onnit had plenty of tread but were really scary in the rain , they had zero traction when wet )

My sons wife drove it for five years , till she upgraded to a 86 S-10 blazer that her uncle bought new .

Got my YoLink temp sensors programmed and in the freezers to keep an eye on the half cow we just bought .

Then cooked one of the new steaks and some rice

And finished binge watching season 7 of young Sheldon .

Almost over my terrible chest and head cold or Covid or whatever I’ve had since we got back from Maine two weeks ago .

Still have an ear infection leftover but I got some antibiotic drops for that .

Not a bad day .

Definitely not in. Worked on our lake house, got my knuckle boom truck home, worked more on the lake house, then used the truck to load up some poles for today’s work. Then went to the bar for a party. I never ate anything all day, maybe I can choke something down today.

I forgot to check in. I did a few things today. Built quilt boxes for my bee hives for the winter, fixed the roofs of the chicken runs that got some damage in the last wind storm. Made pizza for dinner with homemade sourdough, and just kind of relaxed for the rest of the evening.

Not to bad of a shift. I got to supervise and train the new guy, he has a descent head on his shoulders. Had some blue falcons call outs and had move some people around.
Tonight i get to be a roving supervisor, wonder how many blue falcons ill get.
