Worked outside all day.
Getting fields ready for winter.
Picked 100 plus different varieties of winter , fall squash that went off to the market.
Great having a pup that follows you wherever you go.
Enjoying a smoke on the deck.

Sorta in.

Cut the grass for the last time. Winterized lawn equipment.
After took care of some other things.

Found a bad tire valve stem on my work truck, sent info to the proper sources. Not doing much about it until Monday.

Got some groceries for tomorrows grilling.

Now at my favorite Thai, having some Massaman Curry.

Looks like I'm in now.
We sorted cans for the daughter's post prom can drive this morning from 7:30-10.
After that the daughter and I went out to the lease and put up another tree stand and trimmed shooting lanes. Put another strap on one other stand, and swapped out SD cards in the cameras.
I loaded up some guns, ammo, and targets for tomorrow morning. I'm going to squirrel hunt for a bit and then sight in a couple 22's and check my .17
Sometime tomorrow I'm heading to the sportsman club with a buddy to shoot bow and finish sighting mine in.
The Hawkeye football game starts in about 45 minutes, I'll probably put that on in the garage and putter around out there till I feel like going to bed.

The Mrs has spent most of today napping due to getting absolutely hammered last night.

Went to tear the front suspension down in the burb a d get asked to shut the water off to the sprinklers for winter. Fine nbd..................

As soon as i lift the dog house up it bust the primary feed before the shut off.:mad3:

Admist fucking with it trying to under stand what the absolute fuck is going on with its "design" i notice the valve, is off.

She asked me 20min ago.

Pretty sure I ran through my entire vocabulary of curse words trying to get a pair of trailers backed into the yard at work. Raining like a bastard, cross street at the end of the road was flooded so everyone is turning around and doing mach 12 past the yard. Apparently the big metal thing with the blinky lights going backwards across the road is very confusing to the average windowlicker. :shaking:

Made it home, now drinking beer and trying to talk myself into buying a night vision scope for the 22 so I can dispose of the local raccoon population in style.

In. Finished my 14 day dispatch out in Asheville and drove the piece of shit truck they sent me out there with back. I hate that truck, it's absolute garbage. It probably wasn't back in the day but it is now. 1990 International 9300 with a 13 speed. It broke down so many times this past two weeks it was taken out of service until time to drive back, then I drove it. Transmission is so worn out that when its' in a gear it feels like it's in neutral. Air switches on the shifter leak like hell unless you hold the shifter just right. It shakes so damn bad you might as well throw your shit on the floor when you get in the truck because that's where it's going in ten minutes anyway.
It's not my truck, it's a neighboring county's hauling unit for the water tanker. It was "checked over" by the county personnel for that county before I was sent out with it, and some of the issues you can't tell it from a pre trip inspection so I'm not blaming anybody, but the drive tires were 13 years old. When I left with the truck I didn't know that, and they looked ok when i left, but this truck normally drives maybe 50 miles on flat ground at low speeds on the very rare occasion it's drug out of the edge of the woods. I drove almost 400 miles on them and they did fine and still looked ok the first morning of my duties, until driving around with 6000 gallons of water all day. That evening the dry rot showed itself and the sidewalls were cracked all to shit.
SO, it got 8 new drive tires on day 2 or technically 3, and I drove a comparatively nice Sterling instead while it got tires. Got the truck back from getting tires, and it seemed slow to crank but figured ah well it's cold. Nope, alternator shit the bed at some point on the way up and killed the batteries. 3 new batteries and that's when we tested the alternator to discern that. When we cranked the truck to test voltage, injection pump was pissing diesel on the ground, so we put it out of service. Alternator got put on Thursday and left this morning with the piece of shit.
As I mentioned the transmission sucks, and with all it's issues this morning before leaving I joked that I'd just get to the top of Black Mountain and just throw it in neutral and jump out and let it roll.
Well, I got to black mountain and when split shifting to slow down a bit more with the jake brake, it decides to not stay in the low side or go to the high side, it just did nothing.. so I was literally in neutral basically for a minute or two while fighting the stupid thing to decide to pick a gear. Thank god I was bobtail or I'd be a dead man probably.
Sorry for the long read, and I'll give more info and pics of the good stuff in the Helene thread, because I am really glad I got to be there to help as best I could. For now I'm gonna catch up on much needed sleep and poop on my own throne :flipoff2:(not in that order, poop first then sleep)

Pissing rain here. Took the older boy to an indoor rock climbing birthday party, picked up some 33x12.5s that I'd loaned a buddy, had an hour nap with the younger one on the side of the road, then picked up the boy at the birthday party, parking lot was 6" deep, roads are flooding. Been having slow cranks on my 7.3 psd for a bit so I checked the batteries and one was 11v. So went to costco to return em and got 100% return! Full fresh pair of group 65s.:smokin:
Venison chops, perogies, and Ceasars salad on the go for dinner now.

Take a relaxing shit and get some sleep.
Thank you for what youve done! :smokin:

In and tired. We replaced a bad boiler feed pipe today, went well just took time to figure out how to snake all the piping around existing equipment and set up the best in place spots to weld.

Pic of my guy welding and trying not to fall in a pit of ink lol.

Left the house around 5 this morning and got back after 5:30 this afternoon. Did a bunch of hand harvesting before it rains again. I’m watching the kids while the wife is out with her mom friends celebrating a birthday. Hoping for an easy bedtime so it can become adult beverage o’clock.

We were going to head to town, but didn’t really have a plan. So we started some much needed house maintenance (neither one of us is very good at house work). Once we had chores done, and had a plan for town, we decided to stay home and run to town tomorrow.

Neighbors rotated some of their herd today. We have a bull next door again so Elliot will need to be on his best behavior (training collar) when outside. I need to reinforce a couple aging fence posts tomorrow.

Sipping on a margarita trying to figure out dinner, might be chili and rice.

The wind is almost nonexistent this evening, windows and doors are open. I love this time of year :smokin:

Had a dindumuch day, just went to Costco, bonus for me is we only spent $10. On the way home GF wanted to hit up Taco Bell, I suggest some other really good places but NOOOOOO she has a craving.

Biggest mistake almost ever, it's a good thing this house has a few toilets cause we're on them more than off them. She just asked what I wanted for dinner and with a laugh I told her I was gonna have a little bowl of cornflakes and hit the rack.
