What's new

Snlc

eh, I was more interested in seeing how long the shitty repair was gonna last than actually fixing the shit
you know?
Fixing things "right" is boring.

Besides, with chinese clearances I'll probably have more than the .007" of axial clearance that I had with the worn out stuff. We'll see in three weeks when it gets here.
100% inderstand. I've got a couple critically placed beer can parts that I'm still happy are continuing to work "just because"

In, daughter and I slept in, wife went to work.
Daughter and I went to a late lunch then picked my wife up in merced before going to pick n pull. My daughter wasn't allowed in because you have to be 16 to go to pnp:homer:. My wife and daughter waited in the entrance area.

Got what I needed, most of a 4L80-E wiring harness, luckily the transmission was already pulled so it was eazy to pull out and strip it down.

Only cost me the entrance fee, $3.
Cutoff is 18 last time I went, wasn't any age a couple years ago

Asked the guy how the hell kids are supposed to fix their cars, he blamed it on some other policy what the fuck ever :shaking: stuuuupid

I took my nephews before 2020 and they were allowed in. I was "banned in 2020 for calling the desk "lady" a C***.

I took the counter guy that my daughter was 16, he didn't believe me. I scanned pnp's website last night for age restrictions and didn't see any.

Can’t get the 9.9 evinrude to fire over and confused because I refreshed the old 2 gallons with a fresh 1 gallon. And cleaned the carb. Not even a fart :mad3:

Drinking some buffalo trace and made franks red hot buffalo chicken dip for “dinner”

Is that the one the head was stuck on?
Yes haha. Gave up that because dad, for the first time in 25 years, said hey I’m gunna take it to a shop and throw money at it to make it drive better and stuff. :lmao:

Backstory is since it’s my dad’s car I can’t do work unless he approves it. My surprise to him was gunna be rebuild the motor so it doesn’t burn oil anymore. Well bluff called haha. I was down to trying to pull the head off but I’m pretty sure it’s been welded to the block as one piece.

It's been 35 years ago at least but I had the same welded head problem on my FJ. Thinking back on it now I seem to remember there were 2 small bolts well hidden and not shown in the exploded diagram. I could be thinkin' of a different engine though.

This would make way too much sense.

Because I have the hanes manual and it breaks it down. But feels like it’s still bolted. Oh well it’s the engine builder problem now haha.

Just have to drag my feet long enough so I can get my truck and motorcycle fixed before dad calls for it. It’s my daily drive currently :lmao:

Condensed version: today sucked, everything broke, back hurts, can’t sleep.

Worst Saturday ever! Thought I skated by with a reasonable Fri the 13th, but today kicked my ass. Rained last night and this morning, so I folded up the camper to go find breakfast, did that, then got back to camp, and realized I needed hyd fluid for the skid steer. Went back to TSC and as I head to the only cashier in the bldg, this 90 yo dude with a thousand items cut me off in line. He got in a fight with the lady because she couldn’t get his phone number right for his damn TSC club crap. Found the self checkout and finished that. Put 3 gallons in the skid steer from blowing the hose end off the Chinese tree puller last week, went to cutting some trees and moving them, and noticed way more hyd fluid on the ground, only to see the hose of the lift cylinder hoses was spraying. Said f it, and spent 2 hours mounting new toolbox on trailer and getting things loaded up. After the skid steer was loaded, the trailer looked weird and then I found the booger welded cracks in the frame over the transfer mount had opened up, ( not my booger welds ). Most the load was in front of it, so I took my chances and made it home. I did call my fabricator buddy who lives close, but he wasn’t around today. Made it home and took an hour removing the 4 lift cylinder hoses to drop off at the hyd shop Monday, probably gonna be $500 for 4 24” hoses. Put a jack under the tail of the trailer and closed up most of the crack, but I’m gonna grind out the previous attempt to caulk them together and cut some fish plates to try to fix correctly. Now I’m laying in bed not able to sleep with a knot in my back and typing this out.

Apparently Friday the 13th got moved to Saturday this year. Woke up to a text from my dad talking shit about my wife. Ok, didn't respond to it. He asked when he was going to see his grandson (previously hasn't really cared, he likes to see him but doesn't ask to see him), told him if he hadn't started the day off with violence I had been thinking I'd ask him to meet us at the car museum in Tacoma today. Also the wife is out of town today so ik solo with my kid for the weekend.

Lazed around with the kid for a bit longer, finally got him rolling and out the door about 1030 to ride bikes to the coffee shop. Dad starts texting me talking shit about my wife again about every 45 minutes. Told him to knock it off and sober up.

Rode bikes with the boy for a while, went to the pump track and he finally finished his burrito after playing with a buddy for a while.

Dad continues to text me horrible shit, it gets pretty bad and I'm no longer responding to him. He says he's cancelled his life insurance and I'm out of the will. Ok, cool I won't have to fight your creditors for the money. I stop responding at this point because of what he's been texting me after he started to involve my son in his insults and said there was going to be 'a CNN incident if I tried to visit him'. Jesus fucking Christ.

Rain started about 1630 so me and the boy came inside and ran to the store to cash in the two decent coupons from QFC. Got back inside and the boy starts running amok after being good all day, awesome. Dad continuing to text me terrible shit. Now he starts to draw in my recently deceased mom. I told him to not contact me.until he's ready to apologize for all the bullshit he was texting me today.

Made dinner and watched project farm with the boy. Finally got the boy down late and I'm watching more YouTube and having some drinks.

I don't know what to do about my dad, he's been alienating the whole family for years doing shit like this to them, I usually only get it when he's been drinking and I haven't immediately jumped to do his bidding because I've been busy. I think my mom kept him under control a bit, but now that she's gone he's getting increasingly deranged.

My plan for tonight is to get just drunk enough I don't have a hangover tomorrow. :homer:

Took Big G to the local races, we went to the Circle Track first he wasn't overly enthused, the noise was pretty constant so we went over to the drag strip hung out there till late, it was moar funner, a lot of cool cars

Two ½x36 double male hoses cost me $100 the other day.
I took in 2 hoses to be shortened with 90 full flow ends and it was $90 dollars. These hoses are 90 on one end and straight on the other, female. I’m gonna get a quote, but it’s getting to the point that I can buy the manual machine to do my own.

In and late

Went to the Legion in town early this morning. Helped get everything sorted for the Parade. Despite all the hard work they still had a 3 block gap due to dumb fucks not paying attention.

Ruger was in the Parade riding with 81 year old Army Vet in a 47 2a and trailer.

Kicked back in the afternoon ate some great chili a guy brought to the post then had a couple of good cigars called it a day and went home.
