In. Garbage weather, could not do really anything I wanted to. Looking at tractor stuff and hanging out with the dog

watching ufc, first fight is about start. tri tip is defrosting gonna cut it up into strips and cook it up in the cast iron with some taco seasoning, gonna use it to make enchiladas

Car wreck took out multiple power poles in CLT, so I am headed into work... UPS is only good for a few hours, so extended outages make it so that someone physically pas to go it to restore power and servers.

1.5 hour drive and no idea if Duke energy is on schedule to restore at 8PM.

Other than that a wasted day waiting on the power restoration...

beat me to it
caught 9 house sparrows in trap.
makes 9 less of those farkers.
went equipment auction, nothing to bid on. there was a 9n i was interested in.
started and had a knock.
stayed and watched it sell for 4k.
dumb arse bought it.
watched his face drop when he started it to put on trailer.
you have to test these before bidding on em.
max i ever paied for a 8 or 9n has been 1500.

now pizza with my lady.

In. Sitting in the garage fixing some cool old aluminum and glass reflectors that were painted almost over and basically trashed. Going to clean them up and make a new board to mount them on.

Oh, and I'm already drunk:lmao:

The hole where it came from...built in 24 or 34 cant remember. Guessing this was original.

In. Too cold and windy for my liking so I spent the day in the garage detailing my GFs car thing while she cooked up a weeks worth of supper. For some reason I am frozen to the bone so a long hot shower is in order and after that maybe it'll be a margarita night.

dug a pile of clay off of grass
spread it on the driveway
fun fact: the clay/gravel that's 6' down in my yard is the same shit that they'll sell you for 200 bucks a load as 'road gravel' right down to the reddish color of the clay (the clay that's 2' down is light tan and free of any gravel)

oh, the new shovel handle all nice and smooth with some linseed oil on it is much nicer on the hands than the old dry rotted one was
doesn't help that I left the nice new handled shovel leaning against the car as I drove off. Oh well, it isn't supposed to rain tomorrow until the afternoon. It'll stay where it's at in the yard until then, unless I run it over tomorrow morning
just can't have nice things

In,
Worked around the yard with the wife, Washed a couple cars, worked on swapping a rear end in the 240 SX,

later its rib eyes and Potatoes. with a little Tequila.

Not happy with first attempt. Going to make another.

In. Woman went up to PA for her uncle's funeral this weekend so just been sitting around doing nothing and loving it.

Well, not technically nothing, been researching how I'm going to plumb the fuel system in my International. Stuck between doing all AN, AN/hardline combo or nylon like the oems are doing these days. Last option is made difficult by trying to find adapter fittings to my fuel pump/fpr/fuel rail that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Oh wtf, her dog just dropped a massive pile in the hallway. He was just outside like an hour ago, didn't whine or anything, just plop.

In.

Ran a few errands, including refilling the jerry-can. Wake-up call... street regular is now cheaper than marked (no ethanol). :shaking: glad my chainsaw is small.

In,
Made a successful run to the Upullnpay. They said they'd give me 400 hundred for a junk Exploder and they did. No fuss no muss, buh bye.

the nylon stuff just uses a sharp edged hose barb
buy a few different barbed fittings and see which fits best
oh, and a coffee cup full of brine in the microwave to heat the nylon line before mashing it onto the fitting

In. Had a pre construction meeting for a job with a new customer early this morning. When I got home I took the mrs and youngest daughter to breakfast at a local place that has great food and only serves from 6am to 1pm. After breakfast we went to the storage unit and put the registration stickers on our new flat bottom boat and hung the outboard motor on it. Came home and worked on the garage door. Now it’s time for cold suds.

My pump and fpr have -6 AN o-ring boss fittings, so I need to adapt that to the the quick connect ends. The straight ones are about $10 each I'd need like 6 of the things.

Then just the 3/8 oem style quick connects from the nylon line to that.

Still seems to be the cheapest way compared to all AN hose or a hardline with AN flex sections after I add up all the stupid fittings.

This is basically what I'm plumbing together

I'd try stuffing the nylon line onto some pushlock 3/8 JIC (-6an) ends rather than going with the fiddly OE style quick connects

ETA: also, check with your local hose supplier if they have 3/8" "gorilla hose" in stock, it's usually yellow and a fair bit cheaper than "racing company" push lock fuel hose
it is compatible with the push lock fittings and is viton rubber lined so it is compatible with all fuels

Stripped down a toyota a340 trans to see if I could find what was making the noise. If I found something very broken, I was gonna swap the output shaft and shift rod onto another trans I picked up...but the shift rod isn't removable without cutting as far as I can tell. So I started to reassemble and drink beer. Apparently I'm now going to participate in movie night. Wasn't my plan, I don't watch movies really, but...for some reason the wife doesn't want a freshly washed 3 year old helping with a trans rebuild.

In.

Got some more stuff sorted in the shop. Girlfriend decided we needed to get naked and enjoy the afternoon. :grinpimp:

Just finished a T-bone with steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Kicking back waiting for her to pick a movie to watch.

I have pics of my then ~4 year old wire wheeling the rear axle of my bronco from about 17 or 18..uh maybe 19 years ago:lmao:

She claims it's her bronco at 23. I remind her not until I'm dead.

Have a 40 x 60 tractor barn out back, been collecting crap for 26 years now. finally had enough, rented a 20 yard roll off and have been purging shit for a week. rolloff has to go back tuesday, so doing some finishing touches on it today while trying to babysit a brisket on the smoker... giving the brisket another 20 minutes rest or so and breaking out the slicing knife. wore out.

in, went out to a national Forrest to scope out some sheds and shoot some handguns. Cleaning guns now and getting ready to have A few drinks
