This TBR was going to be my first entry in the Rotisserie thread, but due to technical difficulties I had to come up with a backup plan :homer:

I thawed a Butterball TBR, removed it from the package and patted dry. I rubbed the roast with a little olive oil, then seasoned with a poultry rub.

A friend gave me a “smoker tube” a while back, I figured I’d give it a try (it worked very well). I pre-heated the grill to 350 deg (while fighting a 12mph wind across the back deck). The TBR was placed over the center burner which was off (indirect heat). Then I lit the smoker pellets.

I set my timer for 1 hour and checked my temperature occasionally. After an hour I checked the roast with a digital thermometer, it was close so I gave it a few more minutes. I checked the temperature again at around an hour and 15 minutes and had the magic 170 degrees and pulled it. I wrapped the roast in foil for about 10 minutes to let it rest (a recommendation I found to get the netting off easier)

It’s hard to see in the pic, but I actually got a little smoke ring. Great flavor, I think this is a keeper!
