Small CNC plasma tables

I'd imagine shipping costs make that service not practical
youd be surprised. i use motobilt for bigger stuff that doesnt fit in my 2x2. their steel prices are normally so much better than mine, i cant even buy it for what they want it shipped to the door.

They have nothing on their website about cutting stuff for people.

Check out their about Us. I remember MB having an ad on the old site for doing custom work.

About as cheap as it gets

Plus $150 L48 shipping or $447 to here.

I'm leaning toward not fussing with it and just using something like Cut Send Cut when I need stuff that hand cutting won't do.
Send cut send will still kill you in freight no?

You either need a table or don't IMO.

There are definitely a lot more options out there than there were even a few years ago. The main thing is to get good enough with the software to be able to design up what you want - and make sure it will work.

Even if you have something like a small plasma or an Arcdroid, you can either send larger stuff out or prototype on your personal equipment and then send it out for laser if you need it dead to nuts - or you need it out of something thicker than you can do in house.

The other advantage of having one in house is it really steps up your game. Yeah, you could hack something together with a cutoff wheel and a bandsaw, but after you draw it up to cut then it's a simple matter to fillet the corners, make a nice s-curve instead of a ragged zig-zag cut, and cut your logo into the thing. 😉

That's why I say you either want one or not, no need to try and justify it.
In Biden bucks a $1500 table is really cheap

I rarely make things that nice so SendCutSend works for me

True, though watching videos, the homejobber CNC units seem to mostly be "meh" without alot of fiddling.

I don't need yet another project to get actual projects done. 🤣

Can't expect much for $2500 when a commercial table is 6 figures.
Fine for cutting Laugh, Live, Love signs, but probably not for fairly precise holes in 1/2" plate.

If you know what you are doing you can get killer holes in 1/2"

I cut shit I have no business cutting all the time, you just got to know how to cheat it :grinpimp:
