The inside is trick. Lots of surface area for heat transfer to happen.
Are those slotted with spacing? It looks super efficient for cooling

So are you planning to just run it in the engine coolant loop or dedicated loop?
I zoomed in. Bad ass design
Nothing but headaches with this thing lately......... The guy that was supposed to do the roof and door skins kept pushing the drop off date back a week and as of last week stopped answering the phone altogether. Fuck him with a rusty pitchfork.Luckily the guys at Tribe 4x4 have some extra time after KOH and can get me in on the 9th for the roof and door skins.
Is that the rust lab place you were sucking off earlier?
I don't personally know anyone with Tribe, but all my second hand dealings are good news.
I’m a 24 hour drive but might bring the family and a few toys to this event. I’ll race and play, maybe borrow a bouncer if I’m feeling frisky. Is it big?
If you're talking about that Visions one, it's invite-only for the racers. Still looks like a fun time though, I was thinkin about going out for the week just to hang out.

I can not wait to get this thing on the track!!!!!![]()
KoH next year if this season goes well?![]()
Curious to see the engine mods as well.
Me too, but now that racing season is here I doubt I'll get a chance to do anything to the engine anytime soon. FTZ Performance said they would need the head for at least 3 weeks to get it ported, replace the valve guides and cut the seats for the bigger valves before doing the valve job. I don't have that kind of time right now and I also need a couple more parts that are not in the budget at the moment. Why the fuck do SxS parts cost more than fullsize truck and buggy parts??? I cringe every time I buy something for this thing.
What I can tell you is: A guy I know in Ohio works for a Honda dealer and races a Talon R with the Jackson turbo kit. They installed a Hess stage 2 N/A engine package with 11.5-1 pistons on a customer's R and then drag raced them side by side on pavement. He said the Hess equipped Talon pulled his turbo car off the line and accelerated just as hard as his turbo car the rest of the way with the turbo only having an advantage in the top of the RPM range. They didn't dyno either car but his seat of the pants guess is that the N/A and turbo car are making about the same HP with the N/A car having a torque advantage down low. Luckily I don't have to race against any turbo cars. My biggest problem in the HP department at the races will be the Yamaha's. The ones at the track in the Pro N/A class with built engines sound like crotch rockets and are fast as fuck. A stockish Talon can sorta hang with a built Yamaha but you would be hard pressed to get passed one of those guys without more HP on tap.
Funny because I was always surprised how cheap stuff was compared to a full-size rig. I guess it depends on the type of parts.
That's pretty impressive considering the videos I've seen of the turbo talons pulling a front tire off the ground. I'd bet the turbo may have an advantage at higher elevations, but like you said, you don't have to compete with turbo rigs.
Will you have to run race gas?
Can you source an extra engine to build and keep this one sealed up? Maybe a pioneer or Africa twin engine?
