Sioux Valve grinding lathes?

Are they wroth anything? My Uncle just got offered a couple to haul away free...
 
Looked them up on the google machine. The pic shown almost looks like a tool cutter/grinder. Could one of those be used for sharpening bits and tooling?

I'm not sure... Uncle said they were pretty big. If I have some time today I will go check them out and see if they work and might be worth getting.
 
Found an old thread on practical machinist where a guy was converting it into a tool/cutter grinder. Not sure if you can position the work in enough orientations to make it worthwhile, but if the machine is free, might be worth a shot.

Yeah that looks like an older version of what I saw on google but very similar. I dont see why you couldnt.
 
There are a few people who have converted these into tool sharpeners/grinders but it seems to be one of those projects you need a whole machine shop to convert it. I see them frequently for near scrap prices.
 
Thanks guys... already passed on them. I don't do enough engine head work to justify it, and they aren't exactly worth anything to try and sell them.
