Sinus surgery

I read some but not all of this. In my 20s I had the surgery where they basically go up in there and blow up balloons and crush stuff or whatever. That was back about maybe 2008ish i think. Maybe earlier. My dad had it first and it fixed alot of stuff for him, so then I did it, and I used to get sinus infections multiple times per year. Since then I haven't had a sinus infection. Even when my allergies act up i might get a sinus headache but I can still breathe.
But yeah as mentioned above back then I had a ton of packing in my head, unreal amount. Was like watching one of those magic tricks where a clown just keeps on pulling out handkerchiefs. I had to do sinus rinses with distilled water and some kinda salt and all for a while. Wasn't supposed to blow my nose for some length of time.
I do recall that eventually when I was allowed to blow my nose finally, while still doing the sinus rinses.. that one day I felt something come loose and felt like i could blow my nose so I did, and OMG it was a no shit fist full of grayish stuff mixed with blood and all. I truly thought part of my brain had come out  But after that I haven't had sinus issues since.
I was standing in the room and they just kept pulling gauze out of her head.
many feet of it.
was wild.

Holy hell, got the sinus surgery done on friday. The last two days have been a full blown bitch. My whole face was hurting. Blood, snot and whatever else has been pouring out. I feel like the little kid that sneezed and the snot bomb went off. I cant blow my nose. Cant wipe it either. Just walk around with a piece on gauze tape to my nostrils. Hard to wear glasses because my nose is sore. Cant hardly look at my phone. I definitely hope all this is worth it.
Im wanting to OD on Sudafed and norco.
Not sure if i can take the Sudafed or not. Doc never called me back about it.

I hope it proves worth it for you. Recovering post-tonsillectomy was fucking brutal for me but I haven't had a sinus infection since and I used to get 3-4 a year like clockwork and every cold I got knocked me on my ass, now I just get the sniffles.

My Dad had sinus infections pretty much continually for 20 years. After surgery he was so relieved to be breathing, and now gets the occasional infection every few years.

So his wasn't perfect, but they did have to water-pick his sinuses clean so they could even see what they were working with. He's much happier now, so worth it once recovery was forgotten...

that is exactly what is keeping me from going back and finishing the job.
They got one side perfect, but screwed the other up

fuck that
bah.

At the moments surrounding the event, it totally sucks. Every aspect. But memory dims with time. The life improvement afterward is significant.

20 years ago, I finally had to have my septum re-aligned, some polips removed and all my sinuses drill out to make the access openings larger. I would do it again in a minute. Used to get chronic bronchitis, ear infections, colds, etc. all the fuggin time. Pretty much had an endless infection in my head from plugged up sinus cavities. After surgery, nearly nuthin. And I can breathe through my nose, reduced snoring, lots o improvements. Would again in a heartbeat.

I had the exact opposite reaction for the same problem. I am glad they worked out for you
My misery was made a little better when I found out that my doctor had a heart attack shortly afterwards:grinpimp:
