DMANbluesfreak from other forum, i'm gonna delete the other forums post

i'm happy to take any new pics and post, I'll see what shots I can get for the rear ORIs.

Full disclosure: I worked with a local shop who did all the fabrication and work, i lack all the skills (and time) but i knew what i wanted

P.S. I have been lurking and following your build for years and drew some heavy inspiration from your build with some tweaks

you cant hardly tell that is much more than a torsion bar crank if you dont look close.

Here is mine. What’s left of a 1979 k30. 5.7 vortec, SM465/205/205 with tons. Radius arm coil front, and coil 4 link rear. And mostly tube. 40” nitto trail grapplers, dirty life beadlocks.

Fresh pic, just about done giving her some TLC. Rockers, floor pans, cab corners, fenders, doors, and wheel arches. Sprayed it in Raptor Liner.

My first time doing body work, and with a "good enough" mentality, it turned out decent. Way better than it was before.

I will grab some pics once the snow and slush falls off.

This truck is my workhorse. Really only moves if it’s pulling a trailer or pushing snow. I got sick of rebuilding the IFS every season so I swapped it. Figured do it once in the only way I knew how. Leaf springs and a 78-79 Ford 60.

With the ORD kit and stock height, 3 leaf spring packs, it wound up at exactly 3” of lift. That was important to me because I planned on it wearing a blade again once it was done. Unfortunately, leaf springs made that allot harder. No where to mount to.

Can’t stand dash lights, so I had the hubs machines and used the WFO ABS rings and sensor mounts. I made a mount for the 4x4 actuator on a crossmember so I won’t get any service lights.

I slammed a conversion joint in the stock front driveline and ran with it. Not ideal by any stretch, but this thing really won’t ever get twisted up in the rocks. I will run it until it’s a issue and then do a fixed output swap on the transfer case and have a new driveline built.

I used stock replacement rear shocks up front with f series shock towers, and some tabs burned on to the tubes out of some 1/4” plate I had laying around.

Whole ordeal took two long weekends from jacking it up with IFS, and setting it back down with kingpins.

Looks great, but damn that's steep!
LOL. I Agree. I bought it used off Craigslist. The grey one in the photos was on another suburban. The guys kid rolled it one night and he parted it out. I reaped the benefits.
