Way out West.
Who's going?

I'll be there on Wednesday, but I'm hearing a lot of the mfgs are pulling out due to WuFlu concerns, or their staff is already sick. If it's lame, I'll just go home, but otherwise I'll be there Thursday and Friday as well.

Lots of big manufacturers pulling out. Of course that lets the smaller booths shine. The little guy’s usually have the innovative shit anyways. I think the mask mandate here is also hurting things.

Ill be there Monday thru Thursday. Smallest shot show ever and that's when I get to go.

Should see alot of old coworkers from Remington days. Just glad I got out of the firearm industry.

Kind of glad I didn't make the trip, sounds like it's going to be somewhat of a COVID clusterfuck.
Already sounds like my work is already a covid battleground. My wife had it two weeks ago and half her team has it also

So being at shot or work I still have a chance to get it

Headed over tomorrow, but have heard it's kind of a ghost town. The LE/Mil area is supposedly fully stocked.

There was a few big vendors missing and a few small booths

Classic and TFB have the best coverage I've seen so far. Ian said he's not going in depth on anything at SHOT, will cover stuff when he has loaners and more time with them. Gun Collective didn't even go to SHOT.

PSA still showing off the vaporware Jakl, they've got a FN-57/Ruger 57 competitor coming soon, and adding a sub compact to their Dagger line. Haven't seen anything about the MP5 clone they unveiled ~4 years ago.

FN didn't let Springfield steal their thunder for long:

I saw the fn hi power in the news today. I wonder how springfield feels about that after they released the sa-35 a month ago.

I read that the new FN hi power doesn't share any parts including mags or aftermarket parts with legacy hi powers. It also has an MSRP of at least $1200. Sounds like a fail to me.

Guy from Classic doesn't know seen from saw, annoying as hell, but you can get Glock mag Stribogs natively now, no need for aftermarket lowers.

$1269 for coated models, $1369 for stainless. I guess I'd have to put one in my hand and see if the ergonomic changes and 2 extra rounds are really worth twice the price but my MK2 is one of the most comfortable pistols I've ever held.

FN SCAR's finally use a non-recip charging handle, and will shoot a 2.5" group at 100. Not bad for $3600 or whatever dollahs. :shaking:

We had a booth as usual. The show was slower than usual, but those who attended were there to do business, not collect free shit. We were in the very front of level 1 main hall and the mask Nazis had a strong game. Seems like the further you were from the SHOT business office the less shit you got about masks.

What brings the funny (or maybe not). The very first day we had POs emailed over requesting proforma invoices to start the export paperwork for the Ukrainian government. They seemed to be in a hurry to get more guns for some reason...

I did walk the floor for a bit, and I saw more of the stupidest shit for sale that I have seen at any previous show. The firearms industry is (has been) a fucking clown show with everyone jumping in to pump garbage into the industry.

For those who don't know. I own a OEM/contract manufacturing company that manufactures AR-type receivers, barrels, small parts, suppressors, and on occasion rifles for .GOV and LE types

Yeah, and those fucking Chicom garbage scopes, mounts, rings and whatnot.

I got to see the people I wanted to see, Leopold, Lapua, Seekins, Berger, Kestrel and a few others, but mostly I was speedwalking by most of the booths.
