7 miles in on the north leg. Cruising in the first 4 mile straight, over drive 135ish mph 5k rpm and holding.

Lost power steering then power. Then the volt meter dropped. Then the temp pegged. Coasted a mile to the next flag worker and pulled off.

Race day done in the first 5 minutes. :frown:

I'll have a video maybe of my loop 2 loop run. I really botched that. My first year up there, 2021, there was a bad wreck. One guy died. After that the race made it mandatory that all drivers run the loop road twice, up and back. You have to get your badge scanned at the p9st office on the north end to verify.

While in que to make the run, we were talking with other drivers about that wreck. I made the mistake of asking if he knew which corner it was on and immediately told him to not tell me. I didn't want to hear it right before I drove up it. He said it out loud anyhow.

So now that's in my head.

I rode the brakes all the way north. 9 seconds behind, in 11.7 mile run. Not great. Kind of bad really considering the winner is likely less than 1 second from perfect.

I sat in my truck for 20 minutes staring at the dash. Trying to figure out if I could drive the road like needed and not hurt my kid. Or myself. Why tf not? Everyone else did.

So I took 10 seconds off my timer from perfect. 7.34 vs 7.44 and we headed south. Hammer down. Drove the shit out of it. Only had one spot were the notes said the back of the crest turned left but in reality it went right. So I was pointed in the wrong direction. Jabbed the brakes skidded briefly and got it pointed the right way. Whew.

So were booking it down there and all of s sudden in at the last 35mph corner. What how'd I get here so quick? The finish is 100 yards from the corner and I have 8 seconds left on my timer. That's right, I just cut 17 seconds -ish off my time. :lmao:

What a shit show.

How can you even launch that thing with only one tire in the back getting power? My dads old v6 would smoke the tires if you pinned it. Speaking of, any plans to upgrade to some more sticky tires? Or bigger?

It used to hook up great n/a. Now it makes more power it is less good.

Yes, plans are already evolving for next time. (dont tell the war department, you thought ukraine v russia is ugly :lmao:)

Going to go lower. Mod the front sway bar. Aftermarket wheels and lower pro wider tires. Plus some traction aid in the rear.

Already have new pulley coming for the blower. reached out to boost district and was told the zzp part is junk. I went with them for cost and speed of availability. might have cost me the race, who knows.

loose bearings tossing belts and ultimately leaving the chat?
See above. I doubt its the bearing in the snout, its brand new. I think the press fit on the pulley hub was less than desired.(?) Hoping anyhow. Will know more when new hub/pulley arrive here. Went with griptech this time.

So, more detail on that. During the 145 run, I lost the belt right at the end. When we put the spare on, we both noticed it was running in a different spot on the blower pulley. IE- the blower pulley is 8 rib, the truck accessories are 6 rib. We had been in the middle 6 on the blower, one open on the front, one open on the rear. After tossing it in the shootout, now the belt is running in the back 6 ribs. Likely it had started coming off then. You cannot see the snout shaft with the pulley on, so no way to tell for sure.

Plus........I was told by the dyno to put a factory truck tensioner back on. I bought an ict manual tensioner because I read lsa's toss belts. :lmao: But the time it was dynoed, I didnt want to change anything else before the race. So maybe with a factory tensioner and the new pulley, it will be fine.

Had to go back and look. Sure enough. Why are you spinning tires then?
Spinning the "tire"

I suppose its all the horsetorques I'm making :lmao:

its a one wheel wonder for the time being. factory truck 10 bolts are cheap. I think for the short term, Im going to toss in a 342 rear. Current is 373 and worn out g80. 342 should net me a few more numbers on top. might break 150. :smokin:

the race crew feeds you well while you are there. the steak, the pulled pork and the brisket were all race feeds. the pizza is from the local bar and it was killer good. I couldnt tell the crust was not real.

Had a gal name Debbie stop by the shop this morning that ran her 2012 camaro up there. She said she met you there. I think I might have to try to get invited for next year.

No, dont waste your time its an awful event.

:flipoff2: I dont want to compete against anymore drivers in the lottery to get in!

How in the hell did I miss this thread ? Let me know if there is a semi local event coming up and I’ll try to make it !

145.5 Mph clocked. Right at the end it laid over, belt came off. Trap speed was 141. Might have a few mph left, but not much. Racing is disappointing......I sure wanted bigger numbers on the dyno and on the track.
