Shipping a wheel

Pirateship for UPS or Shippo for FedEx. It will cut your $90 in half or more.

Fedex got me for about $180 to ship a 14 bolt carrier to grendel :homer: , at that point its boxed and ready to go so it went. And it was shipped from family business that has a commercial account with fedex.

I ordered two 10 leaf rear springs for my squarebody 2 years ago from parts geek , these fuckers are like 140 lbs a piece , and the shipping was free with fedex. The just put a label on the spring and sent it. WTF

Check with Greyhound, I dunno if they still ship parcels, but they used to be a good deal.

Also could check with Fastenal. I believe they ship on their trucks only to their stores. Not sure if you have someone to pick it up.

I know this was the ticket back in the day, but I thought something changed, and it became no longer viable.

Does anyone have any recent experience with this?

Other thing that comes to mind is… do you really think the wheel manufacturer is going to run down to Fastenal to grab a wheel for some random dude trying to save $50????

I worked at a tire warehouse in the late '90s. We would occasionally ship things via Greyhound if we didn't have a truck heading that way.

Yeah, its broken down into regions now. East to east and west to west only. No crossing over the line.
