Looking to sell a couple 22 pistols that i have and get a threaded ruger pistol. Stopped at the LGS and they do consignment and take 20%. I figured i could sell on GB for way less than 20%, but not sure how to do transfers.

Anyways, are there other places to list besides gunbroker? How have you done transfers? Obviously face to face is the easiest, but i doubt FB would allow that listing to get local buyers.

Depends on the laws in your state.

I use armslist and gunlistings.org for local sales and purchases.

In iowa they have printable forms you can fill out and keep with buyer and sellers info plus gun info. But It is not required and you don't have to turn them in to anyone.
Iowa law only states that the seller has to believe within reason that the buyer is not going to use the gun in a crime.

20% isn't bad when you figure shipping and FFL fee's on their end
You'd have to ask if the 20% includes shipping. I would assume consignment means it's toss on the wall till someone walks in. Not listed on GB.

Is there a local firearms forum or group. We have on that is quick and active

Not sure on a round count, but probably less than 300.

Less than 300 on this one too

No, I meant if your selling on GB or AL, theres shipping, FFL fees at times etc.
20% from a consignment is not terrible.

I'll give you 10 bucks to keep the mosquito
I have one, bought used. haven't shot it yet, but your the 11tybillionth person that has typed that.

They are picky about ammo I've read.

My mosquito runs just fine on cci mini mags. I did go through it and polish some things and removed the magazine safety. For some reason when the wife shoots it will not cycle for her.
It's not actually made by sig, but by umarex.
Looked at the new fn 22 pistol the other day in a shop. Made by umarex did not feel nearly as nice as an actual fn pistol and they still wanted 450 for it. Hard pass.
Hoping the new sig 322 is better.
Shop around one local shop here does 10% for consignment.

Locals use armslist but you have to have a membership and the sellers always say ‘buyer pays fees.’ I assume Colorado has background checks on private party sales so they’re adding the $25 background check I’d pay for a new guy which is why I stopped considering used guns a deal. Plus people price things close to new as if guns are out of stock.

i think there are many better options out there that aren't picky on ammo. and this is coming from an OG Walther P22 owner.

Removing the magazine safety and doing some polishing does a l9t for the trigger.
Apparently some just don't run no matter what ammo you use.

I'm a black hole for firearms, I buy and never sell. I've even made some friends mad when they've sold me stuff then years later try and buy it back. They knew what they were getting into.

I've bought private party from Armslist both local and out of state, and GunBroker. You don't have to have your own FFL to ship to an FFL, but in my experience, most FFLs on the receiving end don't want to get a firearm from someone out of state that doesn't have an FFL. You might find someone who doesn't care, but the FFL I've done the majority of my transfers through, won't do private party that doesn't ship to them from an FFL. YMMV.

Any gun shows coming up? I see folks walking around selling/trading stuff at shows all the time.

It depends on the FFL for transfer fees. Out here it ranges from $20 to $50. The one local firearm Buisness close to me closed his doors couple years ago and he was $20.
