School me on Electric fences

:laughing::laughing:

He's got maybe 1/2" of sand covering limestone. Gonna be pounding, if not drilling, posts .

Might be easier to come take some cars outtah my junkyard, place them at the property corners and use them as anchors to stretch some wire between. 🤣
Oof. Fuck that then. Shoot the owner. Maybe whoever inherits the goats will do a better job of keeping them in.

I have 2 neon signs that I kept through the last umpteemnth years....one from McSorely's, the oldest continually operated Irish bar in the US of A and a DFH one from when I turned 40 and my Mrs. still loved me.

Are you donating the transformers or posting in the wrong thread? Shipping for the neon to 87035?

You fawkers can pay the "F U" tax on these, they are sentimental. So the least I need is"$3.50"

it isn't OP responsibility to keep the goats out
talk to them about the problem like a grown up (look like you did)

we had cows, and someones got out and came to visit. After a few months we took them to the sale
let him know that is the next step, and after that if he wants them back he can buy them back there

it isn't like they are going to do a VIN and title when you drop them off

This is the bullshit Im dealing with

Holy shit, it's like those videos of "teens" pillaging and looting 7-11s.

1 good dog would solve all your problems. Electric fence won't work, unless you spend big bank on a ton of crap with layers.
Goats test fences and will keep on punching through your weak spot and you'll play whack a mole for life. Forget it.

Goats run from a barking dog, though. Get a dog.

Or better yet, in the sunroof of his truck. It doesn’t even have to be open first.

It’ll take 2 or maybe 3 strands to get all of them. Some will jump, some will crawl if you put a single strand up.
A bigger charger can handle more wire. Get the one with the dead cow on fire. Fiberglass rods should push in easy enough unless you have hard pan.
Good luck.
This is part of what I use. Have to source the rebar. The PO at my place left a shit ton of these, and wire. One guy can run this a long way.

Yes actually, it is. NM is a fence out state, as I mentioned earlier. Meaning livestock and livestock owners can go any fucking where they want until you as a land owner fence them out.

There are few, but at least some, repercussions even if they fuck up your fence.

Dad had an issue with his neighbor's goats being in his yard and on his roof (earth contact home). Dad talked the the neighbor multiple times about it. Dirtbag claimed they just get out. Dad turns to look at the fence and it is clearing taken loose from the corner post and rolled about a couple of spans of posts. (Neighbor has way too many animals on his property and they were long out of grass.) I guess the neighbor thought he could free range them?

Finally Dad got mad enough he shot the billy goat in his own driveway with the 20g after he had chased it around his yard for 20 mins. Dad said it knocked the goat down and he thought he killed it. Oh fuck:eek:. Dad said the damn thing finally gets up and staggers back across the road. Neighbor sees him and loses his shit. Comes across the road ranting and raving, threatening to call the cops. Dad is holding the shotgun and keeps telling him to call them. Dude is screaming and cussing and keeps getting closer. He gets within about 15' of Dad and it finally dawns on him that Dad is holding a loaded shotgun and decides to go home.
Dad calls the sheriff and tells them what happened. Sheriff tells him that dude is SOL. He was warned basically.

Do they not have a brand inspector at the sales up there?

Do they not have a brand inspector at the sales up there?
first, no one brands
second, no one inspects, because there is no brand to inspect
third, if you take the first step, you would imply that you would give a shit and want to actually keep your livestock(s) correct??

I was not aware that there were whole states that were free range, we have sections, but not the whole state

I still stand by my approach, talk, then start selling
you park your car on my property and I will so the same :grinpimp:

Driving post in by hand seems a pain in the ass and honestly to much work for my fat ass.

Any experience with gas powered post drivers?

Do you like goat meat? If so shot one at a time and bbq. Eventually either he will notice his goats are disappearing or you will save on your grocery bill for a year.
If you dont like goat meat then cook it like pulled pork. Everything tastes decent like that.

They work. No experience with the chinese ones, but we used to use Honda powered ones and they kicked ass.

As long as your soil isn't overly rocky and you can pound posts in with a regular manual pounder.

Other option is a rotohammer drill with a big bit to predrill and then smack in by hand.
