Scary books

I started King, Koontz and John Saul when I was 12.
My mom had Amityville Horror on her bookshelf forever and wouldn't let me read it till I was 11.

My birthday is July so I was out of school and read it while she would be at work........for 2 days and then I would get so scared I would wait for her to get home to read. I would put it under the couch cushion so I couldn't see it during the day I was so scared.

After that, I was off to all the people you mentioned.

I hid IT in the hall closet under blankets so I could sleep at night. Then I read it a second time. :lmao:

I've never read Amityville.

My mother took me to see the movie Halloween for my 12th birthday in 1978, with two of my friends that were 11yrs old without asking their parents. One girl wasn't allowed to be my friend after that. My mother didn't give a shit :shaking:

I found John Saul extremely depressing.

My aunt would give me the books after she read them. My mother didn't read or watch scary shit.

I asked my girlfriend because she is into this shit, she recommended King's Salem's Lot and something called House of Leaves.

I don't know. :flipoff2:

Read many of his books when I was a teenager, never had a desire to hang out with him. Not because of what he might be thinking, just not my crowd.

Ever had dreams that you would never try to explain or admit to another person? That beats a scary book ten fold. It’s like thinking to yourself “I know I am capable of protecting myself and my family if that’s what it takes, but I didn’t think that I would go that far”.

A good pull of Nyquil when you are just trying to get sleep will fuck your mind.
Why the fuck would you want to hang out with that wacko?
and
Nyquil= Nightmares for me, I have no clue what the hell is in that shit that does it, but I wont take it anymore

I've tried King and haven't been impressed. Plus I'd rather not support that liberal.

I'll give watchers a go. I'm wrapping up the patient now.

I read I am Legend yesterday and dug it.
is the Watchers by A.M. Shine?

Michael Criton, Sphere. If quantum mechanics are real and the observer and our mind can have an affect on reality, then you can dive right into this one for a creepy story that makes you wonder and scares you at the same time.

I own every chrichton book I've found. He's my favorite author. Sucks he died.

I’m reading house of leaves right now. It’s a very rigorous read because there are extensive footnotes and parallel stories/narrators who comment on eachother. It’s something of a challenge and looks like it’s going somewhere really good but it would be exhausting if all novels were written in this format.

I'll have to look for a hardcopy since kindle didn't have the actual book, just books about it.

Th

That book is depressing and terrifying as fuck. Loved it.
It's on my list for one day. Know the movie I'll have to be in the mood to read it.
