Sayulita Mexico....am i gonna die?

I heard Mexicans say that it was the cartels that prevented the covid lock downs there. "The cartels kept us free"
Probably about right, they don't like things that are bad for business. Tourism is big business, they tend to protect it pretty well.

Taking the family on a proper vacation, as we are long overdue. My wife, 2 kids, and myself are leaving Friday night to stay at the airport Hilton, then direct flight at 5am early Saturday morning. We will be there for a week.

How sketchy is the town? I was told it's very tourist friendly and not much Cartel action, though I am firmly convinced the mansion I rented is cartel owned. Any places that are a must see, and places that are a must avoid? My wife and I are both kind of on the same page of, we really don't have a reason to leave the house. The house comes with it's own chef so meals are taken care of and the little town is a 8 min walk if we decided to check it out

Here are a few pics of the house I rented

Judging by this post, I'd say you'll be just fine.

Pretty sure that is the town our president at work went to in the spring. He loved it.

The cartels don't fuck with Americans unless we fuck with them. Drugs and human trafficing are their business, not hostages or terror. They don't want uncle Sam any more concerned about them than he already is.

guess I’m the only one that’s actually been to Sayulita :lmao::lmao:

You’ll be FINE and will have a great time

Your place is probably owned by the “Canadian cartel“

Rent a golf cart and explore as much as you want …

Sayulita is one of my favorite beach vacation locations

45 min drive from the puerto Vallarta airport, so you’ll most likely be fine.

Although close proximity to ‘beach of the dead’ is somewhat ominous

It’s common knowledge that ALL resorts and rentals are cartel owned. They are massive cash cows for them and they protect their investments dearly.

How the hell you find that place? Airb&b?

Been there, 15 years ago, and during the covid scamdemic. The place really blew up in that time. There's a lot in town to walk around and find so treating the house like an all inclusive seems a little lame, but that spot looks tits.

Go rent some longboards for your stay, it's like 100 bucks for a week rental. There's some secluded beaches if you want to take a little walk thru the jungle.

When I was in PDC last year, they had 3 or 4 flavors of law enforcement all over the place, including military looking ones with scary black riffles. They were mostly fucking with any locals that had tattoos, I'm assuming looking for gang/cartel affiliation. Everything I've heard is that the cartels won't mess with the heavy tourist areas as they don't want to publicity that it will bring to them. 🤷‍♂️
